Yeah I don't see that happening. 2 of our better forward prospects and a 1st rounder in a deep draft for two rentals we probably won't be able to keep because of cap issues. It's questionable that those additions are going to be enough to get past Boston, Carolina or Tampa. Not a good idea if Drury has that in mind.

Personally the best forward out there is Meier but even bringing him in pretty much means we have to move Panarin or Kreider in the summer.
I don't think Kravtsov is here to stay. The way he's been handled tells the story.
thats way, way too much
Kravtsov's value isn't that high. Sure he has potential but the way things have gone the past few seasons outshines the little things he has done this season. He's value on here is in the hands of @EdJovanovski.
I'd love Drury to take the same road he did last year but the pressure is on. Getting Vatrano for 4th was straight up steal and the conditional first for Copp was fine. Sure you could ship Blais out instead of Cuylle but I don't think there are many willing to take that contract. The 1st could be conditional.

I imagine Blais must be on his way out the door. No reason to recall Cuylle if he isn’t going to play.

The NHL only has itself to blame when they made the braindead decision to choose Versus as its primary tv partner. They threw all chances of visibility out the window back then, and they’re scraping their way back to relevancy as other sports are becoming more popular. Bettman only has himself to blame too.

I haven't followed the minutiae of Bettman's TV deals, but it's clear as day something's gone badly wrong. I see quite a few Ranger games on the away broadcast. Overall the TV coverage is really weak, lots of bad commentators with the odd exceptions etc. I have a much higher expectation of professional American broadcasts. And that's without even touching upon the frequent issues I see from posters on here that they don't have a stream available because reasons.

I highly doubt we see a player that Drury drafted who is starting to get a few looks traded right now. These are players that drury wants to build around and create in his image. Cuylle and the cheap ELC contracts will be needed next season.
Cuylle was drafted under the old regime.

Not that I think the Rangers are shopping Cuylle, but just to clear up a frequent talking point, Cuylle is not a Drury draft pick. Drury’s first draft was 2021. Othmann et al. Cuylle went in 2020 in the Lafreniere draft.

This 100%, but drury was the agm & had some input in the draft. iirc drury was actually a strong advocate for drafting krav. I seem to remember a story about him going to Russia to scout him and wanted him drafted. I might be wrong on that but I wouldn’t be surprised if he wanted cuylle since he def plays the way drury has drafted so far.

Way to go Piles.

Tarasenko is about the most expensive piece I’m hoping for. He could actually change the lineup and be a compliment to Art and Tro.

Cullye I think can stick as a 4th line guy, but Drury may just as well being advertising him. I think (and am hoping) Drury is driving up the price on Meier. If we end up with him though, I don’t think it’s Doomsday.

how are they different?

size is the biggest difference. Barbashev is overrated on this board for some reason
You haven’t really seen him play if you think its just size. Barbashev is a much, much, more physical player. He willingly goes into the corners. He isn’t afraid of the dirty areas. He is a pretty solid forechecker. And can play all three forward positions fairly well.

Kravtsov really isn’t any of that, certainly not effectively. I am not in love with Barbashev as some are here, but would welcome him and what he brings. Having said that, saying Kravtsov is similar to him is not true at all. Just isn’t.

Kravtsov is not afraid of those areas and does the same. he just gets manhandled.

Even after getting dummied over and over again, I respect that he still gets in there.

Barbashev is just older and stronger. I'm not giving up Kravtsov for him

Gallant needs to hold his vets accountable. It helps no one to just let Artemi do whatever he wants, play however he wants. Surely, he needs to be confronted, but this should start with the coach.
And how the f*** you are going to do this to a PPG player?

We got a 2C for 5.65 a season, Isles pay 1C price

Winner
Kinda the reverse Pelech move. They got a terrific dman for a great deal. This deal Borvat a little overpaid. Lou don't care at this point he needed to ink Horvat.
