Still traveling, going to miss the next two games, but caught a little bit of the Ontario game and was pretty surprised how overmatched we looked. Taking a bunch of penalties early in a game where you scratched several guys who log big PK minutes (White, Frisch, Vincent) is a bold strategy.
Askarov did not help himself out in that game, though. Think that might've been the first time he was part of the problem.
The Cagnoni goal didn't get posted, that's at least one thing that was worth enjoying:
Yes. It feels like the Barracuda are constantly underachieving. Maybe my expectations have been unrealistic, but if not, he should be replaced. It's not like he has some great record of player development...How does McCarthy still have a job? It genuinely always looks like coaching issues in a lot of games.
He's hardly had any players worth developing until this year. Next year he's going to have many.Yes. It feels like the Barracuda are constantly underachieving. And he's a Doug Wilson holdover...time for Grier to bring in his own guy.Yes. It feels like the Barracuda are constantly underachieving. Maybe my expectations have been unrealistic, but if not, he should be replaced. It's not like he has some great record of player development...

Yeah, I kinda figured McCarthy was gonna be replaced after 1-2 years so Grier could bring in his own guy...surprised that didn't happenKind of a weird mindset to have when McCarthy has spent three seasons under Grier and zero under Doug Wilson. McCarthy got appointed during that one period that we had no permanent GM.
There's been nothing stopping Grier from bringing a new coach in and he hasn't.
