LOL SERIOUSLY

Guy should be fired immediately from this.

No asshole, your job is to develop the kids so we have a better team. Yes they go hand and hand. And kids develop from GAME experience, not f***ing line rushes in practice

But hey, just keep putting that same, super predictable PP out for 100 seconds out of the 2 minutes. Amazing coaching.

It's not always about stats. Particularly ones as noisy as goals.
What? Since when? Hahaha. I see stats stats and more stats on here, always. Noisy, fancy, you name it. Not ONLY about stats, but it certainly is. Bottom line is goals are what wins games. There’s a reason they are a “noisy” stat. If you are scoring them you are helping the team. If you have two players that whose job it is to score goals, it’s hard to say that the one scoring more isn’t a contributor.
That being said, I don’t mind ANY player getting a wake up call. And maybe Laf IS the one that needs it.

I agree. Problem is f’ing owner just going to replace him with another win now coach. Org is screwed.

Rangers get Ivan Barbashev (50%) and Noel Acciari
Blues get Zac Jones and 1st round pick (Stars)?
I wish we got Barbashev instead of Blais.
So those two players represent $3.75M annual cap. If you do it at the TDL I suppose that works (?) but not now.

With our current lineup, unless you are putting Barbashev in the top 6 (and he perform more like he did in 21-22), you are essentially trading Jones and a 1st to upgrade Brodzinski and Gauthier. Not sure that's worth it. A 4th line of Goodrow-Acciari-Barbashev would rock but would that be enough to make a deep run?

Fans: Owner is the problem hiring win now coaches.

Also fans: Barry Trotz is right there!

Edit: P.S. Gallant was our top choice!!!

I liked the lineup the team was rolling going into the break and think it’s a really bitch ass move from the coaching staff to nuke it after one ugly loss coming out of the break.

NHL coaches are the absolute worst.
Acting like all coaches do this is cope. Gallant is exceptionally dumb.

I’d love to see Gallant try and win games with the kind of injuries Washington has . This team falls apart when Lindgren or Chytil miss half a game, imagine if the big guns went out for an extended period of time like a lot of teams are dealing with. The last 2 seasons the Rangers have been really lucky with injuries.

Should have been fired a year ago actually but as long as the team avoids a 10 game losing streak he’ll get to keep his job because this org is clueless

How would he do with a team that had an over/under of like 69 points in the preseason?

Barbashev and Acciari would be huge upgrades over Brodzinski and Gauthier. Let me know when they score more than 10 goals a season. Both Barbashev and Acciari can do that. Both scored at least 15 goals a season something Gauthier and Brodzinski never done

Goodrow Barbashev Vesey can be a solid 3rd or 4th line upgrade. If it upgrades the bottom line by that much, definitely more worth it than trading a first for another skilled finesse forward. Bottom lines need upgrades like last year. I don't feel safe with Gauthier, Blais and Brodzinski in the playoffs taking a regular shift

P.P.S. Our last coach wasn't a win now coach but we still lived and died with every game and hated his face.

Look I'm on the forefront of the "play the kids more" battlefield but Gallant is just repeating what's been told to him to do by management.

We all know that's not in the best interest of the kids, but we also know the child-owner doesn't give a shit about their best interests

I think Dolan gets too much credit for our problems and Sather gets too little

I mean, really the guy i'd like to get into the org. coaching wise is Nate Leaman. Whether as HC, an assistant, maybe Hartford HC. He's someone i don't think i've ever heard a bad word about. The trouble would be getting him out of Providence

His coaching record, and reputation with the players he coached would suggest otherwise.

In one season, with 14 returning skaters and the same netminders he took a team that finished 7th in the Metro to the Eastern Conference finals.

With that said he does come up with some weird comments. He likely juggles lines too much to maybe doesn't always make the right moves in terms of who he plays where...but. He is a successful coach at the highest level of competition in the sport.
He doesn’t seem to last too long where he goes though. I don’t think he’s a bad coach at all, and I’ll defend him on this, I do think his mandate is to “win now, develop as you go” and doing what he thinks it takes to win.

Maybe that will get him fired. If they get shutout vs the Bolts. I bet he will be on the hot seat again if he was ever on it.

i dont get why the Rangers can’t just give the kids 17 minutes of ice time. Is it in the veterans contract or something that they have to get a lot of ice time? What if they got the ice time. it is not like the vets are gonna beat up the kids in the locker room after the game 😂

There are reasons why he doesnt usually last more than 2 years someplace. Fans of other teams have said this about Gallant. He messes with lines way to much, doesnt impliment an offensive or defensive system to give the team semblance of structure to fall back on on the ice. He wears out his welcome and its already here for us.

Gallant should be canned and hopefully i dont want us to miss the playoffs this year but that will be the only way he gets canned or we get ousted in the first round which i can clearly see happening with this team and him as head coach.

Sadly Gallant wont be the one to take us to the promised land. I dont know which coach is but sadly Gallant wont try to develop players and win games. THats literally the two most important things as a head coach. You NEED to be able to develop players and win games.
