I think you're going to have to easily fork over $7M+ to get Shattenkirk at this point.

Now with the cap space offer Draisaitl 9.8 million for 10 years. Can you agree to a trade with the Oilers after making offer?

You can't offer anymore than 7 years, but yes you can come to terms on a trade. Generally that would happen before the offer sheet was made though.

I stopped watching the Ranger clips after they got rid of Jim.

Sure Amanda's more presentable, but when I see low effort and disengagement and no accountability on the ice.

I don't waste my time or money on the extratraneaous offerings.

Although I will say, Artie, Will Reeve and Anson are far better for a hockey show.

At least they know the game.

All these people thinking we could have got Shatty for 6.35m, I cannot wait to see the reaction when he gets north of 7m from someone. Also, this was a fair deal for a guy whould would have got 4.5 from someone if he was greedy and went to 7/1.

I'll reserve judgment on the terms of the contract until the Shatty deal is announced.

Here's my problem: Smith, Bereglova, DeAngelo on the right, none of them are 1st pair material. I assume Smith was brought back to play with Brady. The money doesn't bug me, it the potential assignments.

So are we still bringing in Shattenkirk? Are we making another deal and flipping DeAngelo? Are we just going to see who works where and hope it pans out?

I hope the big picture starts to become clear because it's hard to get a handle on the off season plan. God, I hope they have a plan.

As long as Skjei - Smith is used as the 2nd pairing, whatever. 350k higher than I would've liked, but it's fine.

We really don't have anyone other than Smith to play top pair with McD. No one I would trust anyway. Maybe there's another move to be made, I don't know, but If Smith is our best dman on the right side, he should play with McD. Maybe DeAngelo plays with Skjei.

This team has $23m to play with and people are pissed about a couple extra hundred grand....FOH.

That was my initial reaction lol more than fair value for a guy that will play on our 2nd pair and add some much needed snarl to the back end.

On Smith:

I'm not enthused at the price but He's needed. His character is needed.

Let's see if the hockey smarts show up or if he has his gaffs.

Imo. The board will turn on him after he costs 3 games with bad penalties and turnovers.

Say maybe around March of '18.

He doesn't shoot enough or will be scratched often enough to have the statboys to spend a few hours of their week posting about him.

The Rangers still only have three top 4 Dman, (yes, that's all they had at the end of last year.) Management has supposedly told Staal to expect a reduction in minutes, (which was reportedly why he refused interviews on breakup day). Are they planning to give DeAngelo an opportunity to break into the top 4?

Or how about Brady on Macs right. Didn't Brady learn to play on right while in ahl? He says its not an issue. Can't we just play our best players in the best spots? AV are you listening? Then Smith and Jersey Boy as 2nd.
