Living in San Jose, I can say almost with certainty that Marleau and Thornton will be back

The mall near my place just opened a Dicks Sporting Goods. They had Marleau do a signing in there the day it opened, and my friend that got to see him said he was telling him he was excited to see what he (Marleau) and the Sharks are gonna do next season, and try to get back to the Cup

Well than we'll just disagree. I do think Bonino would be a good replacement to Stepan. Seeing he's been in Pittsburgh, he hasn't had to carry alot of scoring load. But he is skilled and gritty at same time and he can skate alot better than Steps could. He is good PP guy and PK. I've watched him alot. I have no doubt given the key role he'd be playing, he'd be no worse than a 45 point guy and possibly 10 points better.

I love the guy so maybe I'm biased. Love his game and think he'd be perfect here. I doubt also Gorton would break the bank for him.

And yes I said it earlier, alot of our success is based on Mika finally getting his **** together, no more ****ing excuses and playing like the guy he was supposed to be last year. He was our best fwd in the playoffs IMO and if he can play like that Mika, yes...he is a bonafide #1 center. Not in the Crosby,Getzlaf, Malkin, Tavares zip codes but I can see Zibs as a 60-65 point all around guy in the Giroux, Duchene,M Granlund, neighborhoods which is nothing to ashamed of nor sneezed at.

NO! I'm sorry but if we are trading Stepan and upgrading to a 'grit' guy ... that is not our answer. We have no Crosby, no Malkin, No Kane, no Toews, no McDavid, no Ovi, no Tavares, etc. I'm sorry but I just don't think keep grinding with mid level guys is the key to beating Pittsburgh. You need high end talent. We disagree on philosophy. Look, I like Bonino, but if you think he's your answer to beating Pittsburgh and winning a cup, I think you're crazy lol.

Thornton 2 years, $7.5 million would be the starting poibt

Rofl lol

People are constantly killing a still productive Rick Nash with only one more year at 7 mil, and you suggest they sign (1) a Joe Thornton to a 2 year deal worth 7.5 mil who is even older?

lulllllz

Edit: Unless you mean 7.5 mil total?

I think that is what he means haha

Why does Edmonton do this?

Because Chiarelli is an idiot

A good 4th line is nice to have to win a cup. A good 1st line is a close to a must have to win a cup. When I say 1st line they do not even have to play on the 1st line just have 1st line type talent. I would trade 10 Oscars and 10 Hayes for Conor Mcdavid.

I think a good 4th line is very important, but if the your first line can't compete with the first on other teams ... you are so far behind, you think you're winning.

This is us in a nutshell ...

That was total.

If I meant per year then 1) that would mean i am on drugs and 2) they should have just kept stepan

Why not? RNH with 4 years left at $6m. LH center who has scored 50+ points in the past. Developing a nice 2-way game.

Where he is at right now reminds me of where Brassard was when the Rangers acquired him from Columbus. There's more there.

I don't think so.

He reminds me more of a slightly younger, left handed and worse version of what we just traded away.
