It's like we're a group of school children on a wilderness retreat and we're caught in a storm and the landslide has cut off our safe passage down the mountain and now we're surrounded by a pack of hungry mountain lions and if we get out of that somehow, we'll all die of hypothermia in 48 hours if search and rescue can't reach us in time and people are worried if our packed school lunches feature at least a serving of each food group. We scored a lot of goals in the playoffs and our forward group was one of the best last year. prolapsing ourselves over having a definitional 1C superstar center when we have 2-3 capable "at minimum" low to high end 2Cs and absolutely no defense currently aside from McDonagh and Skjei is stupid.

Because you need more than an elite center.

You need two. Or a 40 goal/100 point scoring winger. And a franchise top 5 defenseman.

The Rangers have none.
 
Flames/Yotes are discussing a deal with Mike Smith, per Friedman.

If true, that means Flames are out on Raanta. But, he could go to Yotes.

If you could move 1 or 2 of those mid level players for a superstar and still find a way to improve the blue line ... ?

I love it. If Nashville won we would have needed to trade our forwards to get a top4 D just like the Predators. It's so dumb, there's no magic bullet to winning the cup. We were literally 3 goals from winning with Stepan as our 1st line center.

How many veteran stop gaps are CGY gonna go out and get that flop? Ramo, Elliot, now Smith who is up there in age? Good, let teams miss the boat like they did with Talbot.

I sometimes dream about being involved in a horrific accident and getting a multi-million dollar settlement from the city and maybe a negligent private company as well for manufacturing the faulty equipment but then I realize I would also have to be permanently disabled to get a good settlement.
