Wow, that's weird, the goal posts were here just a second ago. Now they're over there!

Well regardless, the plan the Rangers put in place to win a Stanley Cup has not worked. This group had enough shots at and they came up short every time.

I see a team like Toronto who has been a laughingstock for as long as I've been a hockey fan bring in two rookies, one a 4th overall pick and one a 1st overall pick lead that team out of obscurity and onto the brink of what is looking like a potential dynasty.

That is all it takes to a turn an entire franchise around.

I love it. If Nashville won we would have needed to trade our forwards to get a top4 D just like the Predators. It's so dumb, there's no magic bullet to winning the cup. We were literally 3 goals from winning with Stepan as our 1st line center.

But they didn't win.

And being literally 3 goals from winning is not good enough for me. And it shouldn't be for you either.

The issues with why the Rangers never took that next step, or couldn't get past LA, or TB, or OTT this year are so obvious, and people just choose to look over it, and on to the next thing, for some reason.

Luckily, the FO took care of one of them this summer. I am very excited to see what McDonagh does this year. I think the trickle down effect of not having G on the ice for 33% of our ice time is going to be bigger than people think.

Well, pending how the D shakes up, of course.

Yeah call me when TML wins a cup. Not saying they won't, but they haven't proven **** yet. Keep in mind the Islanders had the 1st pick, then the 5th, then the 5th, then the 4th.

But I guess if "That is all it takes to turn an entire franchise around" then I gotta go put some money on the Islanders!

Or you can respond to this post blaming Capuano, and then we can talk about the goal posts moving again. And maybe that's not all it takes. Maybe it takes a lot more.

Great. Let's build our team in the mold of Pittsburgh, since that seems to be the only way you seem fit.

Where are we getting 2 generational talents to play center, a speedy winger scoring 30 goals, a goalie on an ELC who will win 2 cups as a rookie, and an elite PMD?

The Islanders failed Tavares with horrendous drafting, missing out on every top line winger or 2nd line center that was available and their loyalty to Capuano.

That is why he will be playing for another team in October of 2018.

Same people who tell you that Phil Kessel isn't a winner, and Justin Schultz isn't an NHL d-man, are the same people telling you that the Penguins blueprint is the only way to win a cup.

Kessel and Malkin are mentally weak, right?

So many terrible hot-takes.

But they had a 1st overall and a 4th overall! And two 5th overalls in between!

Can you confirm or deny that it takes more than that to 'turn a franchise around'?
