While we're at it....how about Kreider+Miller+Stepan+Lundqvist+Skjei+Zibanejad+5 years worth of 1st round picks for Trouba.

Sounds about as realistic as some of the stuff I'm reading here....hah

Trouba is worth more than that. I read it somewhere.
He is Instant Stanley Cup Mix. Just add ice.
Plus, your whites will be whiter and colours will not fade.
He is that good.

It's weird that some Coyotes fans keep acting like we're forcing Stepan on them. Guess they're upset that their whole "we'll take Girardi as a cap dump to drive down the value" theory flopped.

Stepan is a dream center for Tippet, and he checks all of the fancy stat boxes for the GM. He insulates their youth so they can develop. He's signed with term so they don't have to worry about him leaving town after more bad years. He gets them over the cap floor. But no, they want nothing to do with him. :dunno:

He's also really ****ing good. Imagine if he turns into Cody Glass?

People always say that the Rangers owe it to Lundqvist to try to contend now and things like that, but to me, thats pure ****. I think Lundqvist is part of why we can't contend now. Clearly declining, we don't even know that he's a starting level goalie anymore, big contract that takes up a ton of the salary cap. People are too concerned with hurting his feelings, yet they don't seem to care about the feelings of the fans who's team is eliminated every year early in the playoffs now.

Time to tank, this team is going nowhere. I'm not against trading Stepan or Kreider, but if these players are going, please clear out the rest, as well. Shuffling around the deck chairs is a bad strategy, it clearly ignores what is wrong with this team, it is fundamentally flawed at the most important positions.

Two in particular are unbearable. I'm sure they're nervous with the "serious interest" report.

Someone convince me why I should like Strome. I think he's overrated as **** and his numbers are a product of being a giant among boys.

Because when he wants to he can be the best player on the ice?

I mean I'm with you but for different reasons. I think his numbers are what they are but there were too many instances where he just went through the motions for me.

Probably because he plays for AZ? :dunno:

He's got question marks just like Zbad did. Different questions though

You should try living here. Coyote fans have little or no hockey acumen and the media isn't far ahead. And neither group is shy about expressing their opinion.

I posted last year in the Coyotes Board that Goligoski was a 4-5 defenseman. Boy did I get flamed. And as of this moment, no one has apologized to me.

He's not starting level anymore?

He just outplayed Carey Price and then won a gold medal. I think he can still start...

Would be interesting to see how the Rangers construct their center depth if they trade Stepan and then not get a center back or something.

Someone else mentioned it before, but I'm actually a bit worried that Connor Murphy would be coming back as the center piece. He's a good player, but hardly a needle mover.

Murphy+23 would not be a good trade.

You have to love these deadlines. Everyone gets worked up. People go on posting frenzies, often nonsense. You go back and forth between threads hoping for some latest rumor/news....and then nothing happens while productivity ceases.

what else am I suppose to do on a Friday night?

When Bobby McKenzie says something you gotta listen but idk I just can't see Stepan getting moved

Stepan doesn't need to get traded before the few day roster freeze, the Rangers have like 2 weeks (minus an hour) from right now to trade him, could be at the draft, could be after the draft, could be not at all

I like Trxjw's previous suggestion of Stepan, Raanta, and #21 for Strome, #7 and #35

I'd be amenable to removing Raanta & the #35 for simplicity, though. Keep it Stepan and #21 for Strome and #7.

Alternatively, I'd add Raanta on our side, but swap Strome for Dvorak. Stepan, Raanta, and #21 for Dvorak and #7

So the Rangers give up the best player in the deal and the higher pick?

How does that make any sense? I like Dvo a ton, but thats horrible.
