I think Zona should definitely be interested. Their division is straight trash, I think they could make a move for playoff contention this year, plus they have 2 years to convince OEL to stay.

They have a boatload of young talent so they could move someone like Perlini or Dvorak and their first and it wouldn't really make a dent in their prospect pool. Step the **** up Chayka.

Bobby Mac stealing my thunder

So we're trading McDonagh, Stepan, Zuccarello, and Nash too now. Anyone over 25 is gone. If they don't know which Pokemon Greninja is, they're too old for this rebuild.

depending on who you battle you probably don't either.

Taking a brief break from the Step-a-thon to throw this out. Simon Depres was cleared by the Ducks and was skating with the team throughout the playoffs. He is going to be a risk because of his concussion history but he is (was) a wonderful young defenseman. Someone to consider as a high upside UFA. Also RHD Michael Stone had a horrible year this season after rushing back from ACL surgery but he has previously had a good track record and he'll be looking to bounce next year. Stone has a great shot and plays with an edge. Nice second tier defense possibilities to keep in mind.

I am the leader of the rebuilding/transition to a younger team faction. It's time. It's not tanking on purpose. Keep the players brought into the team in 16-17. Zibanejad. Buchnevich. Vesey. Keep Skjei. Lundqvist stays. The rest of them can go. Vesey won't get mad if Hayes is traded. He is roommates with Skjei. Trade some players this summer. Trading deadline 2018. Trade some players this time next June. The Rangers begin a new era. McDonagh and Zuccarello will be free agents in two seasons. Goodbye. I am not paying a 30 year old McDonagh and a 32 year old Zuccarello. Get back young roster players/top prospects and #1 picks. Shestyorkin will come over in two years. The main part of Girardi's buyout will be off the books in three seasons. The last 3 seasons are $1.11M Trade Marc Staal for shorter term bad contracts like Toronto did. Bad money on the Rangers books. They aren't winning now. The bad money will be off the books by the time the Rangers are legit contenders again. Draft and acquire young D. Brooks wrote the Rangers want a more mobile D. Do what the Ducks did. They took a D in one of the first two rounds for like 4-5 years in a row. It's time for significant changes.

With you 10000000000%, I'll be your first member of the rebuilding/transition to a younger team faction

*too sweet*

What does Minnesota need stepan for? They have too many centers if anything. More of an awkward expansion draft situation which might make them trade for stepan

Eh their center depth isn't what it would appear.

Granlund just broke out playing on the wing, Coyle is a winger too.

Staal is a short term option (who may end up in Vegas) and Koivu is 34 and is a year away from Free agency.

I suppose they could shift one of Granlund or Coyle there (I dont think Ek is ready to handle top 6 minutes, though Minnesota may not have a choice but to give them to him.)

It doesn't really work from a dollars standpoint though.

Someone convince me why I should like Strome. I think he's overrated as **** and his numbers are a product of being a giant among boys.
