Danault to me is the exact opposite player to Strome. In fact, they’d make a terrific 2C-3C punch because they are perfect complements to each other. A defensive center and an offensive center. But both probably too pricey… if they could be melded into one player, that player would be AWESOME.
Danault had only 4 fewer points than Strome in the last two seasons at even strength. If we believe someone is ready to take Strome's PP spot, then I think Danault can replace Strome's offense without much issue.

Danault at 6 plus Landeskog at 7.5 plus both with long term. I guess we never will learn.

I'm not sure that this is possible for Vegas with their cap issues but it seemed to me that someone posted a three way deal that may have made the most sense, especially if Buffalo's fans are now down to a deal of like, expecting Rossi, Boldy, Fiala and a first.

NYR out: Zibanejad, Strome, 2022 1st (lottery protected), Z. Jones
NYR in: Eichel

Vegas out: Krebs, 2022 1st
Vegas in: Zibanejad

Buffalo out: Eichel
Buffalo in: Strome, 2022 1st (NYR), Z. Jones, Krebs, 2022 1st (LVK)

Something like that.

Of course if the plan is to have Zibanejad and Eichel then this plan is moot, but if the plan is to avoid the contract decision on Zibanejad, reset your age clock at center, and keep most of your young prospects, this would fit the bill.

You mean at even strength? Cause I'm not getting the math here.

All future acquisition proposals should include which of the kids the proponent wants to lose to make cap room for their guy in the coming years.

A big assumption that MZ would waive his no trade clause to accept a trade to Vegas.

he is no where near those players offensively. Tatar Danault Gallagher has always been one of the strong 5v5 lines. He is essentially a passenger on offense but his good defense helps the wingers to their thing.

That didn't mean much in the playoffs though. His defense is defintely worth something. At 6x6? no. Maybe if we didn't overpay others already.
I think he played with Lekhonen and Gallagher in the playoffs. Tatar was scratched. The line was a shut down line and played against the other teams toplines.

The "Mika wants 10 a year" is a opening shot across the bow. I wouldn't expect his agent to say anything less. This isn't and shouldn't be a one sided negotiation like the Rangers don't have a ton to offer his client that other cities won't be able to.

Sorry for my ignorance but has Landeskog been on Mack's wing for the past several years? Mack is pretty bad on draws so it would make sense that Landeskog would take a bunch. Also clearly Mack is the better skater/better center, so it also makes sense that they wouldn't swap positions just because Landeskog was taking the draws.

Yea he's played on his LW with Rantanen at RW for the last four years.
