I dont think Zibanejad has any desire to leave here and thats good and bad, its good if we want to sign him, bad if we wanna trade him. So with that said i think there should be a conversation with him about the way forward for this team and the salary structure and how things start to change when his deal goes above 8.5. I think that trading Buch was as much about gaining cap space and toughness as it was about drawing a line in the sand. Buch wanted to stay, they found out he wanted too much imo and hes gone. The trend is there outside of Kreider with Zuc, Hayes, Buch, etc that if you like it here you should take a team friendly deal, if you don't, much like the rest they will move on from you too. Playing in the city that everyone wants to play in has to have currency, especially for a guy who is here already.

If it comes down to Eichel at 10M with neck issues minus what it took to get him, or Landeskog at 8.5-9M plus what we would've traded for Eichel, I take Landeskog 10/10.

go after someone like Radek Faksa for cheap center depth. Landeskog fills a need as in a big power forward. this team is still too finesse heavy.
