you don't see a difference between them? You can get by with an undersize guy or two.

I don't see those lists littered with (Fox) 5'11 180lbs, (Lundkvist) 5'10 175lbs. Lindgren on his own is fine at 6'0 190lbs but when you have 2 other undersized guys it can become an issue in the playoffs.

No, I don't see a tremendous difference in between Fox, Lindgren and Lundkvist and what Pittsburgh had. Lundkvist is not 5'10 either, he's 5'11 or 6'0.

2016 Pit had
-Letang 6'0 201lbs
-Maatta 6'2 206lbs
- Cole 6'1 220lbs
- Daley 5'11 195lbs

In their top 6 in terms of playoff time on ice. I don't see a tremendous difference, no.

Fox, Lundkvist and Lindgren can all be expected to continue to gain muscle and get stronger as they are all 23 and under. Not really fair to compare them to the body mass of 26-32 year olds.

Washington, St.Louis and Tampa are fine examples. As I said, though, keep going back and the trend does not hold.

2014-15 Blackhawks, Keith, Roszival and Oduya all got top 6 defender minutes, all 6'1 or under.
2013-14 Kings, Doughty and Voynov 6'1 and under.
2012-13 Hawks, add 6'0 Nick Leddy to the names above.
2011-12 Kings, add 6'1 Rob Scuderi to the names above.
2010-11 Bruins, had 6'0 Seidenberg, 5'11 Ference, 6'1 Kaberle.
2009-10 Hawks had Keith and 5'10 Brian Campell.
2008-09 Penguins had 6'1 Scuderi, 6'0 Letang, and 6'1 Mark Eaton.
2007-08 Red Wings had 6'1 Lidstrom, 5'10 Rafalski, 6'0 Kronwall, 6'0 Chelios, and 5'9 Brent Lebda.

...

I'm not seeing a uniform collection of 6'3+ behemoths on any of these teams.

All have SOME size, but not all.

Well, the Rangers have size in Trouba (6'3), Miller (6'5), Lindgren (6'0) and Schneider (6'2). Or Trouba, Miller, Lindgren and Robertson (6'4). Or Miller, Lindgren, Schneider, and Robertson.

They don't all have to be towering over 6'2.

There is no problem having Fox (5'11) and Lundkvist (6'0 but weaker) in there.

We have plenty of size. More than enough.

You know what I'm actually missing in a lot of those lists? Norris winning talent.

I think that's gonna end up being a way bigger difference than an extra 3 inches.

which brings me to... I expect Lundkvist to play here until Schneider is ready. Then Robertson to replace the 3LD

Once Lundkvist gets into the lineup ain't no one gonna want to move him just cause Schneider is ready. They'll be looking at moving Trouba or whoever the third pair LD is.

"He can be a nasty one, blocks shots, has a good stick, can make the first pass and not coincidentally at all, should be a stabilizing influence on his projected third-pair partner and fellow Swede, Nils Lundkvist.
It will be important for the Rangers to make Lundkvist — who turns 21 on Wednesday — as comfortable as possible on and off the ice in his transition to the NHL and North America. That is something, quite frankly, on which the previous regime whiffed when Kaapo Kakko joined the club out of Finland two years ago."

Larry with some shade.

Let the hate start on the main boards lol.
Anyway the guy was basically even on the Red wings last year over 40 games...how is that even possible?!
Anyway hopefully 2 years 2-2.5 million and pair him with a fresh face like Nils.
