The deadline is not the time for shaking up the roster but everything is needed. They look just like they did the first 6 weeks of Woodcroft last year. I guess it’s better to slump now than going into the playoffs but they need a goalie to make saves.

Did you see Ekholm’s face when they scored on the goal that got called back? He sat there in what looked like disbelief. My own Skinner bias was because he couldn’t believe a) he didn’t read that and b) he moved so damn slow, I could have baked a cake before he reacted to it.
Imagine playing most of your career with Rinne and Saros then going from that to Skinner.

What does Fuhr got to do with this? If the Oilers can’t draft and develop, trade for a goalie that is good already. Just like a Dman, can’t draft and develop one, go out and get Ekholm which we did
They don't do that either, dude! One year of good goaltending in the Katz era. ONE. In fact only two years of good goaltending in the entire cap era. That's f***ing pathetic.

If they weren't so good at winning the draft lottery this team's last playoff game would've still been in 2006.

Yeah it’s time to admit the Klingberg experiment failed.

Ball up and trade for some upgrades.

Bowman was on Servalli’s show this week and said that technically this was ‘September’ for Klingberg , so really they won’t even try to evaluate his play until he gets up and running in about six weeks. I wish I was joking, go back and listen to his podcast. It’s the same show where he said he’s confident with Skinner and Pickard.

The good news is, Klingberg is playing just like he has for years now. So he's making it super easy to evaluate him.

Or does Bowman think that this busted up 32 years old is about to hit a new level that he hasn't been at for years now?

Bowman is a buffoon...all he's brought is bad waiver pick-ups and bad karma

Klingberg was always a hot mess defensively...since forever
he was a steaming pile of dogshit in Toronto and so far he is here....there's a reason Toronto put him Robidas island
everyone knew it except our astute management
Just play him at 4th line RW at this point. His defensive gane makes Bouchard look like Slavin.

We went from the guy who put the Bruins in cap hell to the guy who put the Red Wings in cap hell to the guy who put the Blackhawks in cap hell. It’s quite comical when you think about it.
We went from the Oilers OBC to the Hockey Canada OBC and it's every bit as bad.

And they actually interviewed Bill Zito before they got all wet for that piece of shit Holland. f*** those idiots.

All season Guy, seriously. Compared to the level they're expected to perform, I can't even count on one hand any players that have performed to expectations or exceeded. Exceeded was Kulak and Perry the first half but they've slowed down, Nurse to expectations for a while but he's levelled off. That's it, can't think of one other player that's played to expectations even, Emberson I'd throw in there but he's kind of inconsequential, Podkolzin I suppose. It's a miracle the Oilers are even in a playoff position considering all that.
Kulak for sure...I have liked his game most of the season. Thank god he wasnt traded.
Emberson has exceeded expectations too.
Perry (especially for a 40 year old player) has definitely exceeded expectations. I mean it was Perry that tried to drag his team into the fight in the game tonight.
Nurse has been up and down but he is definitly better than he was last season. That was pretty bad though.
I like Podkolzin's game too but he is being overused in the top 6 IMO.
I would also say that Ekholm was solid in the first 3 months of the season.
Jeff Skinner has been okay the past few weeks.
Henrique has been quiet offensively but pretty solid defensively.

So basically we just agreed that 1- 2nd pair/3rd pair dman and 1 - 2nd pair dman along with a bottom pairing dman have been good. In addition a few bottom 6 players have been good.

Thats pretty sparse for a team thats supposed to contend. So its apparent that this team has underperformed and has been primarily riding on McDavid and Draisaitl.

Its absolutely amazing that they are still in contention for first place.

LA is now 2 points back with 3 games in hand… are we really about to go from Division Lead to 3rd in division this quickly?

Ohhh, so I see that Broberg scored 2 and Holloway 1 tonight and that Vegas is kicking ass. I surely expect us to get the news that Kane is returning in the next few days thus giving the Oilers no cap space since after they let go of the aforementioned two players so they could accrue cap space which they aren't anymore to give one last kick in the nuts. Nice

Better game tonight. Still disconnected through the defensive and neutral zone. All 4 lines need to have much more of a shooting mentality. A girl showing me her tits as an ad popped up and blocked this as I was typing… I could do without that.
I mean that sounds more entertaining than watching the Oilers right now.

Take a look at the bottom half of this chart- particularly, our bottom 6 and Klingberg. The Henrique line was brutal (again) and Klingberg managed to neutralize the Mcdavid line and Kulak almost all by himself.
I think the John Klingberg experiment is over. I'd waive him asap...

If Kane comes back before the end of the season the front office needs to be burned to the ground.

Kane was getting caved for a year and a half before this, and is coming back from 4 abdominal surgeries and a knee procedure. I have bad news for those who think he’ll be anything close to 2022 playoff Kane. It’s another mid-30s guy rehabbing his career after major injuries on this team.

Re-signing Henrique was a mistake. Guy had clearly lost a step.

The most shocking thing though is that they haven’t even tried playing him in the top 6 this year.
