fox-lindgren
trouba-miller
nils-nemeth

i f***ing love it. now sign danault and call it an offseason.
Suddenly Millers sophmore season becomes even more important than his freshman season. We know what we have with Fox-Lindgren. Still think that is a decent young top 4 defense that should have good chemistry.

he did struggle badly at times in the playoffs this year, but everyone has a bad stretch here and there

No, I don't see a tremendous difference in between Fox, Lindgren and Lundkvist and what Pittsburgh had. Lundkvist is not 5'10 either, he's 5'11 or 6'0.

2016 Pit had
-Letang 6'0 201lbs
-Maatta 6'2 206lbs
- Cole 6'1 220lbs
- Daley 5'11 195lbs

In their top 6 in terms of playoff time on ice. I don't see a tremendous difference, no.

Fox, Lundkvist and Lindgren can all be expected to continue to gain muscle and get stronger as they are all 23 and under. Not really fair to compare them to the body mass of 26-32 year olds.

Washington, St.Louis and Tampa are fine examples. As I said, though, keep going back and the trend does not hold.

2014-15 Blackhawks, Keith, Roszival and Oduya all got top 6 defender minutes, all 6'1 or under.
2013-14 Kings, Doughty and Voynov 6'1 and under.
2012-13 Hawks, add 6'0 Nick Leddy to the names above.
2011-12 Kings, add 6'1 Rob Scuderi to the names above.
2010-11 Bruins, had 6'0 Seidenberg, 5'11 Ference, 6'1 Kaberle.
2009-10 Hawks had Keith and 5'10 Brian Campell.
2008-09 Penguins had 6'1 Scuderi, 6'0 Letang, and 6'1 Mark Eaton.
2007-08 Red Wings had 6'1 Lidstrom, 5'10 Rafalski, 6'0 Kronwall, 6'0 Chelios, and 5'9 Brent Lebda.

...

I'm not seeing a uniform collection of 6'3+ behemoths on any of these teams.

All have SOME size, but not all.

Well, the Rangers have size in Trouba (6'3), Miller (6'5), Lindgren (6'0) and Schneider (6'2). Or Trouba, Miller, Lindgren and Robertson (6'4). Or Miller, Lindgren, Schneider, and Robertson.

They don't all have to be towering over 6'2.

There is no problem having Fox (5'11) and Lundkvist (6'0 but weaker) in there.

We have plenty of size. More than enough.

You know what I'm actually missing in a lot of those lists? Norris winning talent.

I think that's gonna end up being a way bigger difference than an extra 3 inches.

Once Lundkvist gets into the lineup ain't no one gonna want to move him just cause Schneider is ready. They'll be looking at moving Trouba or whoever the third pair LD is.
you're getting caught up on height. Lindgren would have been the smallest guys on the current cup teams. Then you get smaller with Fox and then Lundkvist. Lindgren is has size in heart not physical stature.

Weight makes a big difference. It's is why fighting is broken up into classes.

2/6 is doable. 3/6 is a handicap.

By the way mollie walker also put out a big time article that we were zeroing in on Giordano and everyone let her off the hook. No follow up nothing.

As I said I would also expect these guys to put on weight as they grow, it's not fair to compare the bodies of 20 or 22 year olds to 28 or 32 year olds.

Nils is not going to play in the league at 185.

The reason not to get fixated on weight is that while these guys are done getting taller at age 22 they are not done getting stronger and heavier. As an example, Chris Kreider has put on about 25 pounds since he was drafted.

Also again - don't really care about the "current cup team." Tampa Bay is one team that happened to win back to back, but they also have generational level talent across the board, I'm unconvinced it was all due to their size. Lindgren is like an average sized D on many past Cup winners the past 10-20 years.

Good signing. Fits what we need not going to get an all star to fill the third pair d for a year or two.

Tells u what they think of KAndre Miller and for good reason. They don’t want him getting less mins if anything his mins might go up

what kind of follow up would you like? the fact that sea decided to keep him doesn't mean the original article was wrong

I would like an acknowledgment of that plan shifting. Carps getting killed for it but mollie went the extra mile and specifically said we were zeroing in on a deal. Don’t think some follow up to that is a big ask

I would love a Nemeth signing. Coleman talk is just for more clicks. I don't see Drury signing him at all.
