All of the insiders were saying Eichel will be traded sooner rather later. That was 4-6 weeks ago. Last week, Elliotte Friedman said after the expansion draft. A few days ago, Elliotte said Eichel hopes to traded by the draft. Dreger is saying it's more likely Eichel will traded some time this week. This week ends tomorrow. Is there a Vegas line somewhere about Eichel being traded by the end of this week? I want that action. This whole thing is crazy. Adams is a novice GM. He worked in business operations for Kim and Terry Pegula's company and they made him the Sabres GM last year.
Adams doesn’t have a hockey background?

Sorry IDvs - I meant the cap space to sign the RFAs and UFAs - I never even thought of the assets they would have to give up.
Ah yeah. The isles have very very few actual prospects, and they need their young nhl talent to fill gaps because they're so old / little cap space. The 15m they have is likely to sign RFA's and suter/parise.

What does Eklund do for us?

Gives us the best center prospect we've had in the system in how long? Contributes within 18 months and only goes up from there?

I'm not saying to trade Buch for futures mind you; I'm just going off the already discussed Buch for #9 talk. Doesn't Eklund or a top flight prospect who can contribute soon do more for us than #9 and #16, as far as competing soon?

I'm perfectly fine with going the COMPLETE opposite direction and trading Buch + #16 ++ to land a player who helps us NOW. I'm just working off of someone else's rumor and saying "if there's any truth to those rumblings..."

Sorokin, Beauvillier, Pelich (did he sign yet)?
They want to bring Czikas back and resign Palmieri

The Goodrow deal kind of adds difficulty to the Isles trying to re-sign Cizikas. They exposed Josh Bailey, which means they're willing to part with him.

Yes. To me if that is how teams feel, may make the window between tonight and 7/28 the most likely time it goes down.

Rangers giving up an unprotected 2022 first knowing Eichel will miss almost if not all of this season would also be a hell of a gamble.

Unprotected firsts aren't nearly as big of a deal with the new lottery system though. However, I don't think anyone is going to trade an unprotected first in the next two drafts.

Do the FishSticks have cap space for JE?

The Islanders have to re-sign Beauvillier and Pelech. Both of them have arbitration rights. Sorokin needs a new contract. Arb eligible too. Parise will take a one year contract with bonuses. If they sign Suter, he will want a multi-year contract. If it's not Suter, they need another D. They might try to add a winger in free agency to replace Palmieri and Eberle. It doesn't appear they have the space for $10M or the assets to send to Buffalo.

If youre the rangers, and you're giving up pieces (including nhl pieces) to acquire eichel, you better protect the '22 pick because its gonna be high...

That’s a heck of a group chat.

- Brisebois: Nobody say anything. I'm going to try and get a draft pick from Drury for one of our UFAs
- Ken Holland:
- Steve Yzerman: Haha
- Marc Bergevin: So no offer sheet talk yet?
- Bill Zito: OMG, I can't wait to see this
- Peter Chiarelli: I don't get it
- Jeff Gorton: Alright homies. PEACE!

*Jeff Gorton has left the group

*Chris Drury (rookie) has been added to the group

- Brisebois: So, anyone interested in negotiating rights for Goodrow, Savard or Coleman?
- Drury: Ohhh. Interesting! How much?
