- Brisebois: Nobody say anything. I'm going to try and get a draft pick from Drury for one of our UFAs
- Ken Holland:
- Steve Yzerman: Haha
- Marc Bergevin: So no offer sheet talk yet?
- Bill Zito: OMG, I can't wait to see this
- Peter Chiarelli: I don't get it
- Jeff Gorton: Alright homies. PEACE!

*Jeff Gorton has left the group

*Chris Drury (rookie) has been added to the group

- Brisebois: So, anyone interested in negotiating rights for Goodrow, Savard or Coleman?
- Drury: Ohhh. Interesting! How much?
I'd care except its a 7th and we typically stockpile those

If rehab worked that changes the game for probably every team involved.

and it should, including the Rangers. a healthy Eichel at 24 is a better long term investment than Zibanejad and I like Zibanejad alot

If a trade for Eichel doesn't happen tonight involving the Rangers, then I think it's very likely that Eichel doesn't get traded for by the Rangers. Which ultimately, I think is a good thing for the Rangers. I'd stay away from him. The generic reports from said Twitter experts seems typical and mundane. I doubt anything happens.

Didn't an MMA fighter have the same surgery? Unless his opponents promised not to hit him in the head, that's seems pretty promising. I feel like we shouldn't talk about it like it's witchcraft.

Eichel is now skating and training hard. Does that mean the rest and rehab program worked? This guy wanted to undergo an experimental neck surgery.

We won't know until a team gets a look at his medicals.

We know that he skated a few weeks ago but that seemed like it was for show. If he were actually healed, why wouldn't the sabres (or he) just come out and say so?

I actually think different, if Eichel doesn't go tonight, there's probably a better chance the Rangers can get him. ANA has 3rd overall this year, Kings have 8th overall, teams who like him or have interest have a top 10 pick. If Eichel isn't moved tonight they lose that asset and likely have to use a higher prospect that they wouldn't want to give up.

Kings and Rangers can make this trade without Byfield/Laf/Kakko etc.. Can ANA make it without Zegras or 3rd overall? etc.

Bingo. Good ol' nebulous "skating and training hard". f*** does that even mean.

Additionally, we're all accustomed to patient Gorton circling back endlessly and fearless Glen Sather at the helm and we're projecting that there's gonna be some give and take here from Drury. There's no reason he's not of the nitty and obstinate mold. There's a lot of them out therein the GM world. Cheveldayoff in Winnipeg didn't make a trade for literal years while having a lame low lottery team the entire time. Sakic got lucky Ottawa is run by dinguses or he might have a rep as a miser. Bryan Murray made a career out of having good teams with screaming needs in specific spots and promptly trading a 4th rounder for a goon and calling it a day.

A lot of people have had it. This experimental narrative is incorrect wording bc it's been done for like a decade. It's just new/rare within the NHL

Two of them. Both actually train out of the same gym. These guys put a ton of strain on their necks several times a week when training (more so than a hockey player would, a lot more actually) so the early returns are very promising. We don't really have enough data to know how they're going to do 2-3-4 years down the road though.

But I would say that the circumstances are different. These guys don't get paid if they don't fight. A fighter's career is crazy short as it is and less rehab/quicker recovery makes a ton of sense for them (For these guys who had the surgery, 2 extra fights in a career can be the difference between having a few hundred thousand dollars in the bank and not.) The long term ramifications don't matter much for them.

An NHL team may not be as comfortable committing to a procedure that does't have a track record. Its really in their best interest for their player to be as healthy and productive for as long as possible.
