Well teams aren't dressing plugs to cheap shot or injure other players. But Leafs and probably others have dressed talentless players whose only chance to impress is cheapshotting their opponents. Didn't MB stop participating in rookie tournaments because of that.

It was Gainey and that doesn't happen much anymore. You're more likely to see that in their respective leagues than a rookie tournament.

Fact is the goon and cheap shot artists aren't part of the game anymore, so doing that shit gets you cut more than anything.

I think it was more Toronto didn't have an prospects so they just sent 23 year-old fringe AHLers.

I see some teams have started announcing their rosters for their rookie camps and prospect showcases. I saw Nashville, St. Louis & Florida announce theirs so far. Hopefully Montreal will be able to announce theirs, too.

And this has cost a solid concussion to Evans with a cheap elbow shot to the face by a nobody back in 2018 i think.

Evans was doing reaaaly well out of college but this has set him back at least 6 month back then.

There should be a monetary penalty to the org if you intentionally hurt a player in the tournament. It might refrain the players from sucker shots if that cost their org as this would'nt help their cause.

I just remember reading the hockey news with a buddy and Robbie Earl was their top prospect at 23.
People thought Robbie Earl was going to be really good and he thought a lot of himself too. I listened to and watched some of his college games and even then I thought his linemate was the one who made him look good - Joe Pavelski.

I thought it was because he didn't want to show everyone how bad he built the prospect pool.

I don't think that's it either, guy in the video looks young and skinny and Saulnier is an ECHL goon. Not sure why he would make the cut multiple times in the video

The hockeydb picture is kinda resembling and Saulnier is only 170lbs so it might be him.
