Going to add this here. The Athletic has been reviewing and rating prospect pools and releasing them 8 teams at a time. Tomorrow is the last release and looks like the Habs are I. The top 8.

According to this, goalie Antoine Coulombe will be an invite to Habs' rookie camp.

Coulombe last season in Shawinigan had a 2.73 GAA and a .907 SV% in 40 GP.

Then followed it up with a 2.44 GAA and a .927 SV% in 13 playoff games and backstopped Shawinigan to their first ever President's Cup.

And then he had a 3.52 GAA and a .908 SV% in the Memorial Cup.

Unless he beats out like 16 NHL forwards and NHL prospect.

Sad we have already too many forwards because i really think he would have had a chance to take a spot. He’s the most NHL ready forward prospect we have (other than Farrell).

Too small to ever be a top pro goalie prospect but he could win a spot in TR at the very least. I seem to remember him being at some of our camps before but I could be confusing the name.

If all the goaltending is in place, 3R will have Desrosiers & Vrbetic. Laval will have Primeau & Poulin, while Habs will have Allen & Monty. So I think if Coulombe impresses, he might be someone 3R signs to play if injuries and call ups happen.

I think the main reason he's here is because the Habs need a goalie for the rookie tournament. Because the only one I think that will be there is Vrbetic.

Makes sense.

I hope habs dont sent any of the top rookies. I dont trust other teams. you might see other teams send no names to hurt our best prospects, break a few legs and such. " sorry I broke you leg " but after the game the no name is spotted buying a new BMW

The great thing about Coulombe is that he just totally stole Lavallée's job in the playoffs and Mem Cup. While they shared the net in the regular season, Lavallée was expected to be the main guy at one point. And it's Coulombe who did the job. But yeah, we are looking mostly at a Trois-Rivières goalie. Nothing more. And it's fine if that happens.

Similar to Vrbetic in North Bay, except he was the one who lost his job.

Peter Repcik may be an invitee to camp, he’s in Montreal now and Juraj posted a picture with him saying welcome.
Can he be signed and have the contract slide since he played CHL, or is he considered the same as other Euro players?

I’m not sure, probably the first but I find it unlikely he will be given a contract. He’s like Mysak-lite, wasn’t drafted because he doesn’t really have any high end skill but responsible 2 way centre. He had really good chemistry with Slaf and Mesar at the Hlinka tournament last year.

Buffalo does have the deepest prospect pool so that should be a tough and interesting first game. I look forward to seeing Slafkovsky battle with Peterka along the boards. Has a "unstoppable force meets immovable object" type vibe. Slafkovsky also is good at poke checking the puck with his long reach so he might be able to stop Peterka's "Bull rush" were he seems to charge right through opposition.

Peterka really scared me during the Utica/Rochester playoff series.😰

Slaf will probably start in the AHL with all the wingers we have.

He is eligible to be signed to an ELC as he did not play a game in Europe last year.
