Done deal. #LAKings add Robyn Regehr from #Sabres - now one over the roster limit, second move coming.

Send down Nolan/Toffoli for a few days until after the deadline. Or someone like DD44 could be waived/dealt.

For those saying overpayment, understand this: there were teams willing to pay that price for depth defensemen like Jordan Leopold and Douglas Murray. The Kings are competing with other clubs to acquire a big, rugged defenseman who can log close to 20 mins of ice time.

It's the market value for strengthening your roster for a deep playoff run. I like their chances with Regehr better than going in with Ellerby in the lineup.

Just before a hurricane, the price for water goes up too. And people pay that price, and understandably so. That doesn't mean it's not an overpayment. We just paid way more to rent Regehr for two months than Buffalo paid to get him for two years.

JUST IN TIME :) for Saturday's Game against EDMONTON and one Ales Hemsky :naughty: or is he still on the IR ? :sarcasm: well he will be after Saturday ;)

EDIT ... awwww darn U Telos :(

Hoping one of the picks is conditional.. Seems a lot for him.

Wouldn't be surprised if they trade Amart to Detroit or Philly now.

What if this is a move to get Pominville too that's why we over paid. Lol I feel like a conspiracy theorist

Bernier is our draft pick, so there's no reason to be complaining about not having R1 and R2 picks. 99% chance at this point he goes for picks on draft day.

We'll see what happens, but I'd think they would be 2014 picks. At least if we're talking 1st round picks. Unless a team with multiple picks this season wants Bernier. Probably wouldn't be the higher of any picks they had either.

I'm just not sure a team would give up a known 1st round pick for a goalie like Bernier. Varlamov, for example, was traded in 2011, before the 11-12 season started, for a 2012 1st round pick.

The Kings have a chance to win a second Cup in consecutive seasons. Who cares about the draft picks it takes to increase that chance right now.

Lets see here. 2 second rounders for...

Playoff roster

Doughty\Scuderi
Voynov\Regher
Muzzin\Green

and in the wings Martenez, Ellerby, Drewiske and in the event of a miracle Mitchell. If Mitchell returns, We repeat. As of now, we got a very good chance at it. X-Factor J.Quick

The PK and 5 on 5 just got a ton better. Kings win in this deal.

Oh not to mention, Doughty can now focus on his offense!!

Really good point their MSRinkRat, very well could have the same effect on the Defence as Carter had on the Offence last year. Hopefully this will allow Doughty and the other D-men to just play the roles they are best at and they will jell one again, and in the case of an injury we have really good depth. All I can ask for now is Read from Philly.

Doug Murray was a healthy scratch this year...for the first time in possibly his entire career. Sharks say he was too slow.

Regehr is a stud.

I think Martinez is the odd man out. Muzzin is younger, bigger and playing better. We just acquired Ellerby and Drewiske is a UFA. Either Ellerby or Drewiske have been the #7 before anyways.

Wow, lame. Two 2nds? Not for this guy. I would had rather traded for Murry.

Murray is a terrible hockey player. A good fighter though. If he's not good enough for San Jose he's not good enough for us. They sold the guy while in playoff position, what does that say?

That cap hit is brutal. Plus they need to sign a TON of players. Bad move IMO.

Sign of a organization who seriously wants to avoid what happened last season in the playoffs. Not sure J"boy" is answer to that riddle, that team needs a firely leader who won't crumble under pressure, Jbo while a decent player isn't that type of leader.

People saying that they'd take Douglas Murray ahead of Robyn Regehr are demonstrating what little they know about hockey. You guys can't be serious.

CBGB called this a done deal a couple of days ago. Credit where credit is due imo.

I knew DL was gearing up for a deal and had hoped that we would stand pat but I guess Regehr for 2 seconds isn't terribad.

I know this, if we got him then DL and DS know that he can play allot better than he has been in Buffalo this year and can recapture his old form.

We didn't overpay or if so not by much. Going to be interesting to see how we handle the over abundance of Dmen.

I heard we had made or were close on dealing away a defenceman so maybe that will still happen.

Welcome aboard RR, now you can start playing like a really good Dman again.

Go Get Em KINGS!!!

Murray is barely good for 5 points a year. He can fight and his built like a tank but he is SLOW.

Regehr is good for 15-20 points, can skate, can hit, is decently mobile and can fight too.
