Not terrible. I really don't care about the draft picks. I'm glad nobody from the roster was gone annnnd he waived to come here pretty awesome.

Do not like the overpayment when we already don't have a first. This is not the draft you want to be down a 1st and 2nd. I do think Regehr can help. You've GOTTA think a roster dman gets traded now. Ellerby won't be waived and I think Dean is thankful for Whiskey not complaining and will try and find him a new home if he is the one on the move.

I think the Kings will want to keep 8 D on the roster, depth particularly on the blueline is huge...Kings got lucky last year with no injuries, but no guarantees that happens again.

That sucks balls. We don't have much draft picks and we just gave up two seconds. That's wonderful.

To me it is potential overpayment since who knows how those two 2nd rounders will turn out someday. I'm sure Deano will get back into the first 2 rounds this summer by dealing Bernier at the draft. I don't mind the move if it aids in winning another Cup I am all for it.

The Kings should get at least 1 pick back when Bernier gets traded. So they will at least 1 pick higher than 3rd round

Bernier is our draft pick, so there's no reason to be complaining about not having R1 and R2 picks. 99% chance at this point he goes for picks on draft day.

Yeah, big time. Now we don't have any picks till the 3rd round? You have to assume Bernier gets dealt at the draft for a player + picks

Yeah, Deano is probably banking on Bernier's value being high and also will likely trade a Dman or two for picks.

Regehr is exactly what this team needed. Shore up the PK unit, clear the crease, and give Martinez a steadier stay at home presence (although Ellerby has been better).

We have an incredibly unique and special opportunity to win this thing again, and shouldn't hamper that possibility because we are afraid to give up late 2nd rounders.

So happy with this.

Yeah, this is an overpayment, but I'll reserve judgment beyond that until I see exactly how much Regehr's game has decreased.

We got tougher, St. Louis got softer. I'm thrilled

Gotta figure DL is going back to get some picks, though. Not the kind of dude to do nothing for two rounds in a deep draft.

Edit: Regehr and Greene for the playoffs, maybe? Yum.

DL has definitely shown he values his picks, but he's also not afraid to throw them around when sees wht he wants. Threw in 2nd for Williams. Added 1st for Carter, 2nd for Richards, etc..

I don't think it matters if it's overpayment or not. The Kings want to win now and Dean what he has to do to make it happens. We should be happy our roster is still the same. (For now.. I hope it stays that way)

St Louis did get softer.. Bou is having a good year though.

For those saying overpayment, understand this: there were teams willing to pay that price for depth defensemen like Jordan Leopold and Douglas Murray. The Kings are competing with other clubs to acquire a big, rugged defenseman who can log close to 20 mins of ice time.

It's the market value for strengthening your roster for a deep playoff run. I like their chances with Regehr better than going in with Ellerby in the lineup.

We were in need of a solid defender with greene and mitchell being out of the playoffs, so i got no problem with this trade..

We will most likely see JB go for a 1st rounder or a 2nd + player.

He will take Ellerby's spot on the team?

I think we're also too quick to assume it's this year's 2nd round picks. It could be 2013 and 2014 2nd rounders?

I agreee.. bernier's going to fetch us quite a nice package of picks/prospects.

wouldnt be surprised if we moved penner or martinez for some picks too.

over the roster limit, so second trade/move comming

Done deal. #LAKings add Robyn Regehr from #Sabres - now one over the roster limit, second move coming.

Not needed. Roster limit goes away after the deadline, so send down Toffoli for two days (does not even need to leave LA) and call him back up after the deadline...

It was too much fun...:yo:
