If Rick Nash can't handle getting boo'd then maybe a career in professional sports was a bad choice. Also if needs to be coddled for 3 years and patted on the back to gain the confidence and will to show up in the playoffs... :help:

He has one more game to prove everyone wrong and show it has not been for a lack of effort. MSL has looked worse.

dont care. its a ********* thing to do. go cheer for the habs if thats what you want.

its counterproductive, and just plain idiotic. who plays better when they are getting booed? anyone?

so how are you helping your team?

YOU arent there for the team when they need YOU the most when you start booing the players.

It's way worse to blindly cheer for anyone no matter what just because a GM signed or traded for them. I hate zealots and fanatics so I'm ecstatic to see fans booing this sports player for failing miserably. Although I admit it goes against my every instinct to boo my own player in the PO's and I don't think I'd do it.

Though i do routinely curse them out...actually come to think of I'd venture a guess that many of you guys (maybe with very very few exceptions) are being enormous hypocrites. The oft-times vicious attacks people launch on here and from the comfort of their couch at the TV are way worse than simply booing. So because we're anonymous it's ok to boo your own players but when you are live you can't? Thinking about it in that regard every fan has every right to boo their team off the damn ice every game if they want. I wouldn't recommend it for obvious reasons. Too bad for anyone who doesn't like it...especially if it's deserved. I'm booing from now on...oh wait I don't go to any games b/c I refuse to give money to support Dolan and Sather. I'll just continue to boo and curse and vent from my living room like I'm sure all of you people do despite acting all high and mighty about booing.

To my last point the people who give money which indirectly goes to lining Nash's pockets as well as Sathers and Dolans are complete buffoons. To compound their idiocy by booing but not realizing they are the problem...

In a salary cap league, you have to perform if you're paid the big bucks. This isn't kindergarten where everyone's a winner and all that matters is that you showed up. If you're sucking down a big paycheck and also sucking at your job, you're hurting the team. Step up or step out.

Rick Nash doesn't have what it takes to be a playoff performer. He's a perimeter player with no heart. I'm not even sure he enjoys playing the sport. Seems more like he does it because he has enough talent to make decent money at it, but has no real love of the game.

I pointed out Hossa being a playoff no show earlier in careers on better Ottawa teams...

This is Nash's second playoffs after his first full season with the rangers.
He's not a messier. He can't do it alone. Outside of Richards and St.Louis there isn't any top end talent on this roster.

Nash found himself on a slightly better team here in Ny than CLB.

Nash has been bad, but the one man s### show in NY is getting old.

Lots of blame to go around

How about he "retires" like Kovalchuk? 200k cap recapture benefit through 2018 ;)

I'm not disagreeing with anything you are saying regarding their performance...but if you seroiusly think booing helps their confidence at all...has any impact on the game in a positive way that helps them reverse all those things, then youre delusional.

nobody will ever convince me that booing your team at home is ok to do. i wouldnt boo tom poti on his worst night, id never boo our guys.

ultimately, its your money, and you can do whatever the heck you want to do. doesnt stop me from thinking the people who boo are fraking morons.

You think there's any room for it to negatively impact Nash's play? Any worse and he'd be shooting at Lundqvist. If anything it seemed to wake him up when he went coast to coast.

For me at least, booing Nash right now isn't even about trying to make him play better, I don't think there's anything the fans can do to make that happen. I loved hearing him booed because maybe if he hears that enough from MSG he'll demand, or at least allow, us to trade him.

Blue Jackets were trailing 4-0 on home ice in an elimination game and the fans were standing in unison cheering for their team. Foligno said the fans were unbelievable and it gave the players a spark. Sometimes you need that sixth man who's just gonna support you no matter what.

Reminds me of 06 when the team wasn't a colossal choke assembly and they were massive underdogs with very little talent outside Hank and the first line. Fans don't cheer under performing, overpaid former stars anywhere when they've never won anything.

Gaborik is playing on LAs top line. He is a primary guy to defend.

The difference is he is healthy.

Rangers never had a healthy gaborik for the playoffs

That team won the cup w/o Gabs. He's not THE guy, Kopitar is. Gabs is the benefactor of his play, and has Brown creating space. Williams, Carter and also Doughty are those secondary weapons that make it harder to defend just Kopi/Gabs.

Not taking anything way from Gab, I loved him in NY until he and Torts hit a wall together, but he doesn't make players around him better, Kopitar does. Just like we can't expect Nash to make players around him better. More i think about it, no winger is worth 7.8mm/yr, unless they're part of a 1-2 punch that works (Getz/Perry) or they makes players around them better (very rare, like MSL in his prime).

I guess like many have said here, it comes down to that 1C.

New York City is an underdog town at heart. Nash is the antithesis of what the typical New York fan likes to root for.

Hes a guy with all the talent in the world and zero balls. Good luck making it here with that combination.

Even if Nash, MSL, and Richards all score two goals tomorrow, they will stand still on Sunday because they played a game. I think they'll win game 5, and blow game 6!

Not sure if you are serious with that comment. Of a the cities NYC is the furthest from underdog. Largest market, largest fan base, highest paid players,

Whats that have to do with the fact that the fans are going to demand hard work from their teams or let them hear about it?

This Ranger team is lucky the real fans aren't priced out of the building. If this was the 1980's, Nash would've probably had a beer bottle thrown at him.

I totally support people's right to boo, but even they must understand it's pretty stupid and counter-productive. If it makes you feel like you are getting your two cents in have at it I guess.

Nash has been bad, but three players have been worse this series.

MSL - Puck looks like a grenade on his stick. Trouble completing simple passes now
Stepan - Has not created ANYTHING for the third consecutive playoff year
McDonough - I love him and know he's hurt, but he has allowed his shoulder to impact his entire game. He has looked like a human pylon this series.

Nash is the new whipping boy. Certainly he deserves his share of blame. I fully expect Ranger fans to soon link him to Climate change and the kidnappings in Nigeria.

Im usually not a fan of booing, but enoughs enough. How much longer do we have to watch this guy coast through a playoff game? Show some fire, show some urgency?

Im glad the fans let their frustration be known, and Im upset Nash thought it was because of one single turnover.

If I paid $500 to be at that game, I'd boo too!

I think everything else has been tried when it comes to try and waking Rick Nash up. Is it even possible to play worse for him?

It's a totally different situation. They knew it was an uphill battle playing the penguins and the jackets players were playing their ***** off. They did not quit.

The rangers looked lost on the first goal and dead after that and made 9000 turnovers.

Nash has had two kicks at the can in the playoffs with us. He gets shots but he doesn't go enough to the areas he needs to go to to score goals. He is a classic underachiever in big games.

Rangers should seriously think about moving him along. He still has value and his playoff numbers probably would be better on a team where he wouldn't be so much of a go to guy.

Quite different...really. Lead by Dubi and a couple of others the Jackets team had a TON of heart and their inexperience let the series get away from them. I can't wait for next season with the core group of kids and the depth of young kids coming up.

I guarantee that if Nash was still on the Jackets "if" they made the playoffs they'd been swept. That is a very big if because of his lack of overall leadership and heart to play the game and get down in the dirty areas.

I've watch him play ever since the very first time he stepped on Blue Jackets ice in his very first practice, him scoring his first goal and then throughout his career Sadly one of the most dynamic players when HE wants to be but HE lets his lack of heart dictate his play. Sure he may try to turn it on but he's like another "Scoreless Jumbo Joe Thornton" great regular season player and crap in the playoffs. He thrived under Hitchcock but that's been about it. He hasn't played for any other coach his entire career like he did for Hitch. But Nash won out on locker room country club type atmosphere.

Agreed. I absolutely hated when Rozy was booed and thought it was undeserved. And the booing of Gomez and Drury during Howell and Bathgate's retirement was disgraceful, that's not the right time and place for that.

But I was OK with it last night. I am harder on the players of this team than I was in previous years. They pinned a lot of their troubles on the coach last year, and as it turns out they still struggle offensively and are incapable of self-motivation. If the players can't hold themselves accountable, and the organization won't either, then I have no problem if the fans take it upon themselves to do so.

Nash is week mentally and I have no faith he will do anything in Pittsburgh on Friday because he does not want to have to come back to the garden.

I know this is moot because there's no way we're winning 3 in a row, but Nash should be stuck on a line with 4th liners at this point. Maybe he'll find that he needs to carry and be a one man show out there like he's always been and play better.

Rozy was a good player for us. He was booed because people wanted him to be a different player. It's similar with Boyle. He's a very good player, but people want him to be something he's not.

Nash on the other hand....I don't even have words anymore. I've defended this guy to the end, but no more. Last night was deserved. If they get to game 6, I hope it continues. And Richards should shut up. I'm sick of people defending Nash. He was invisible last night. No goals in the playoffs is unacceptable. 2 goals in 27 playoff games as a Ranger is inexcusable.
