If he now pulls a Toews and wins the Conn Smythe with a great SCF that would be the ultimate troll move :sarcasm:

Of course Lundqvist has the Smythe all but locked up if we win the Cup, so it's a moot point, but a great series with timely goals and suddenly he's "clutch"

Which locks him into the HOF and a banner at MSG.

umm..im pretty sure most people would agree, that has already been locked into place. unless henrik suddenly forgets how to play hockey, he's going to go down as one of the greatest to ever play the game. not just for us...for any team ever.

Nash had an excellent series.

Very happy with his play right now.

Completely agree. His scoring stats are still bad, I get that, but when we get so much supplemental scoring (and we win!) it's less of an issue. A rising tide raises all boats.

Nash did so many little things to help us with this series.

you know how this board is. "no cup = loser"

I'll agree with the folks that say his series against the Habs was much better. Still not seeing the same player that I'd like to, but he's been much better all around.

Nash has to be at the center of things now, this is why we got him. He has to finally take over because we really need him out there. The Kings will be physical so if he can crash the net and block Quick's eye this can be the start of something for Nash's success

The concussion either caused nash to be super timid and abandon his old style of playing as a power forward, or just made him a braindead $8million paper weight.

Well he did play well. Except for that one play where he made an extra move on a breakout but honestly the D-Man made a great play on second thought. But the Rangers played too nice in this game. We need to bring the lumber on their defense. Kreider did not break out as much.

Nash had a monster 1st period but was meh for the rest. That "extra move" was one of the worst things i've ever seen. He brought the puck closer to the d-man instead of driving the net, or trying to pass it, or shooting.

The 3-1 move was probably the dumbest thing I've seen a Ranger do in a long time. It reminds me in football whenever a RB, WR, or Kick returner attempts to go backwards, it very rarely works and usually just ends up in lost yardage. Nash is allegedly a power forward, he is rushing up the ice with speed, has 2 teamates rushing up the ice to support him and his idea of a good hockey play is to pump the brakes and not only allow the defender who was 2-3 strides behind him to catch up, but to actually turn and change direction towards that defender.

Unbelievable. Almost like he did it on purpose.

he was very good. made some great plays. if that pull back works he has the defenseman slide right by him with the full lane to the net open.

say what you want, the d made a good stick on puck play.

At first I didn't like that play and I still think it's not the best division but after they showed the replay I see what he was trying to do. If Mitchell didn't knock it away he had Stepan WIDE OPEN in the slot for a one timer

His 1st period was great, maybe the best we've seen of the guy this year. But that 3 on 1 was the worst thing I've ever seen. It's unreal that out of all the things he could have done there he did that. Shooting high and wide there would have been 100x better than that.

again, if it works, hes got a clean lane to the net. its a great play to get the puck off his stick.

sometimes, you gotta give credit to the defenseman on a play like that.

Pulling up on a 3-on-1 is something a forward can do in a midseason game against a bad defensive team such as Edmonton. It's not something that should be tried in the Stanley Cup Finals against one of the best teams in the league. Nash had to be more decisive there, LA was not going to give up on that play and allow him to take the time to evaluate his passing options.
