Nash was always streaky in Columbus. He'll have his time yet for you guys.

What Jacket fans are surprised by is Brassard. Talk about your late bloomer.

It was commonly known brassard hated the old CBJ managament. I'm not even a CBJ fan and i knew this

Not surprising he plays well in a normal enviornment.

The Nash trade was still a good trade. He scored several key goals down the stretch to solidify the 2nd seed and home ice for the Flyers series.

Dubinsky was so putrid in 2012. He picked the best season the Rangers had in 20 years to have the worst season of his career after having the best season of his career, and a rich contract to boot.

It was a good trade at the time. It was a good trade after last season.

Erixon sucks. The draft pick could have been Mantha or Burakovsky but it's still a prospect 4 or 5 years away. Anisimov is a very good player but he, like Dubinsky, was a no show in the 2012 postseason and we're outperformed by Kreider, who like AA and Dubi played the left side.

Nash playing lazy and disinterested for long stretches of a season and postseason is shocking, quite honestly.

There was a few Columbus fans who were really down on him and thought he was selfish and aloof, but I chalked it up to them being disgruntled because the team always sucked and he was rumored to be gone.

I've been following this team for 35 years. This is the worst postseason performance from a top-6 winger I've ever seen, and that includes the brutality of Osborne in 86, Nedved in 1995, and Robitaille in 1996.

Nash would need two weeks of inspired play into the SCF for him or anyone to even consider 2014 a decent postseason.

I was originally against acquiring Nash but I warmed up greatly to it and I was very happy with the trade. We needed goal scorers. Dubinsky had grit and heart but he also had an awful 2012 season (which makes me laugh because so many fans turned against him and now they want him back).

I defended Nash a lot last year. I have difficulty doing so now. He was pretty solid in the Flyers series, but didn't score, and he's been pretty bad in this Pens series. Even Klein has a goal LOL.

Nash definitely displayed instances of driving hard to the net, from any area and into the centre of the ice earlier with the Rangers, just as he did with the Bluejackets. I don't see that any more, haven't for a while.
His current game, the one we expect to see and do see, is a rather uninvolved, 80% type of effort from him, for whatever reason. He is so far from balls-to-the-wall that I am surprised that anybody could consider his impact as OK.

The only success Rick Nash has had in New York is to significantly lower the expectations of him.

Nash had a pretty decent game today. I thought Stepan was pretty terrible.

Kreider was the best player on that line.

The excuses for Nash have to stop already. Another game, another 0 goals from him. It's absurd. He can't put the biscuit in the basket. He can't put the stuffing in the turkey, or he can't even put the turkey in the oven. He can't put the car in the garage, he can't put the train in the station. He can't put the rod in the water, the lightning in a bottle, the cat in the hat. And that's really why he's a loser. He can't put the cat in the hat.

Nash was as bad today as he's been all series. Wont drive to the net, when he carries into the zone he doesn't even have the decency to dump the puck, he lobs a softie into Fleury's pads for a whistle. Missed a beautiful chance in the 1st.

He, like the Rangers the past few games until tonight, has been both unlucky and bad.

To be fair, contrary to Seussian notions, cats do not like it when you put hats on them.

I also can't hear the excuses with his linemates anymore. Most times it's apparently Stepan who is to fault, because he can't finish and doesn't set him up enough. Well if he needs freaking Crosby to set him up, then he's not a very good player and certainly not what we need.

49 shots on goal and no goals. Too many low percentage shots but not any luck either. He does need to go harder to the net. I actually think he's dragging down Stepan with him. Passing all the time to a guy who can't finish to save his life is not going to give you any assists.

Whats interesting is that the Rangers played their best playoff game in years last night, yet Nash was as bad as ever.

He cant continue to be a passenger.

An observation on Nash from Elliotte Friedman on TSN 690 Montreal:

Very insightful and probably the best explanation of why Nash struggles in the playoffs. To sum up the segment for those who can't listen:

Because of all the losing in Columbus and being treated with kid gloves for so long in that organization, Nash just doesn't know how to adjust to his current situation. He's a quiet guy and there was concern about what the burden of expectations would do to him once he left Columbus.

Has he taken one slapshot? The shots sound great and I also agree that he had some bad luck, but he doesn't do much to "force" his luck.

And I don't agree at all with that Stepan blaming stuff. You'd think Nash had set up a dozen tap ins for him the way people are criticizing him for not giving Nash assists, but in reality it has been what - three good passes with two of them back in the Philly series?

Sad to see that an emotional game like that, where the team rallied, and Nash is still nowhere to be found.

Thanks for that link by the way. Great insight

We hope he gets his act going!

So once again, it's some body else's fault and not Nash?

I swear, Nash could pull an Aaron Hernandez and people would blame his mother for bottle feeding him.

Pretty decent?

The excuses for the guy are absurd. He was as much of a ghost as Stepan yesterday. Two worst forwards on the team last night.
