Well we won and Myers scored

Why is he always soooo much better when Buff is gone? Maybe we should trade Buff and re-sign Myers. :madfire:

  • I didn't get to watch most of the game tonight as I tried to give a go and learn how to skate in case the Jets need any more injury callups. I could make Bambi-era Scheifele look like a pro.
  • I watched the end of the third, and based on some highlights and what the numbers show, here's what I can interpret:
  • Both Connor's had a return to form tonight, though Hellebuyck's was more convincing than Kyle Connor. Wheeler can be too pretty with the puck sometimes and the offense stops there, but they didn't cause a lot of chances against either. Came out even against the "f***ing horse***" top players of the Stars.
  • Roslovic must have looked good on that 2nd line, and Laine must have been equally as good playing on his opposite wing. A nice show for this current experiment.
  • Perreault-Lowry-Tanev were strong, I think? They often face the stiffest competition and came out ahead in terms of Corsi and xG. Granted, they were also on ice for the most xGA for forward lines - but if they can score (which they did with Lowry) against other team's top lines, then that's a great matchup win for the Jets, always.
  • Many people thought Appleton-Copp-Lemieux were defensively strong tonight... I mean, if they kept most of the shots to the outside sure? I don't necessarily see it. Seems like Copp and Lemieux got caught on the ice too long too frequently as Appleton was the only one to come out ahead in terms of Corse, but still struggled in xG. Not having seen much of the game for myself, I can't really comment. But Maurice is finally giving his 4th line nearly 10 minutes a game, so I guess that's a plus?
  • Morrissey-Trouba... they are good a lot of the time. Enough said, I think.
  • Chiarot-Myers... they are also good when on their game, which is some of the time. Good give-and-go with Laine and Myers as Bishop was caught flopping in his crease on wraparound and the Stars weren't sure what to do. Still not a fan of many shots coming from the defencemen.
  • Kulikov-Morrow, also heard they played defensively sound, but didn't generate nearly any offense with them on the ice tonight. Can't quite say myself.
Chief's final eyetest says: practice on even ice, fellas, not ones with bumps and isn't cleaned much.

It was a great Ukrainian Festivus Miracle!

(It's Ukrainian Christmas tomorrow btw)
We celebrated yesterday due to it coinciding with my aunt's birthday and being a weekend.

The usual gustatory delights. Piroshki, 2 kinds of pierogi, sour and regular holubchi, kalach and a never-ending ring of kielbasa lovingly grilled by yours truly.

I really enjoyed that. Haven't had all that stuff on the same plate since leaving Winnipeg.

Kuli playing some impressive hockey and dragging Myers into being a respectable player.

Myers played most of that game with Chiarot. And believe it or not they were good. Myers with the GWG. But don't tell anyone he can play top 4...

That was a good team effort, top to bottom. Good coaching strategy to get more chances with the active d.

I think everyone stepped up in a statement game, to stay best in the Midwest (Central).

Hope Copp is ok, he looked pretty shook up on the hit from behind.

Wait, pretty sure Chiarot paired with Myers?

Anyway, I agree completely. Kulikov is playing up to his deal lately. Hope he can stay healthy. That's his main obstacle. He had a couple nice dangles in today's game.
