Did anyone in the building catch the chant after our first (maybe second???) goal?

It sounded like there were a few going of sync with each other.
Maybe just a simple goalie razz?
Or was it something in the Dallas CEO range?

Why is he always soooo much better when Buff is gone? Maybe we should trade Buff and re-sign Myers. :madfire:
he buff and trouba all play better when playing large minutes when san jose were trying to play karlsson the way we were doing our right side he sucked now he is getting over 25 min a game and is killing it. offensive d men need big minutes to really get into the game it seems this was the myers from the playoffs and its sad were gonna lose him for nothing next year but thats how she goes sometimes

I think Wheeler has started to realize he's not as young as he once was, and keeping his shifts shorter means he can keep the same energy, because if you watch, he's definitely the first to go off on a line change when he gets the chance on that line. Scheifele will often be the last, but Scheifele is in his prime so I'm okay with that as long as he's not burning himself out.

Playing RW at home, he's also the closest forward to the bench 2 out of the 3 periods.

Wheeler needs to shoot more/drive more. Too many times he's looking to pass in prime position.

he is just saying that, everyone who have watched him longer knows he will put 500+ goals from LW

At this point he's played significantly more hockey in the past three years than he did in the previous five in Finland.

213 games in the NHL as an adult. I think that trumps 52 games for Tappara mens team. Even if you factor in another 90 games played for Tappara's junior squads going back to 2012 & add in some international play he's still played substantially more hockey against significantly greater competition. Go back another season and he's a goaltender...:sarcasm:

I'll take what he said last week over what he did in a handful of teenage seasons when playing a different game, in a different country, on a different ice surface, being taught a different style of game while competing mainly against children.

If Laine begins regular play at LW, he'll be relearning that position virtually from scratch.

Looking at the shift charts, there was one shift in the 3rd that Wheels wasn't out for with Scheifele, and Wheeler cut his shifts shorter than Scheif. That makes up the difference, from what I can see.

Ok that’s what I thought. But that’s quite the difference in shift length. Some of those extended shifts were completely unnecessary.

Polak with the dirty hit from behind. Might be worth a suspension, given his history.

That was a very careless play even though Copp put himself in a bit of a tough situation. But plenty of guys can make a hit there without plastering him right in the numbers. Carelessness has always been Polak’s thing.

Really? It would only take a few games to get comfortable on the left wing again.

I was being overly harsh, but there's a lot more to playing ones offside in the NHL than in Europe. I'd suggest that's why Laine said he prefers RW now and wasn't simply "saying that."

He's experienced the NHL game, understands how time & space is more limited and having spent 2.5 seasons to rethink his position on the matter has opted to concede that the organization knew best.

Perhaps this will change, but it will be due to his game adapting and improving, not because he played that position when he was 13-17 years old.

Think Scheif is trying to get going again and maybe that's why he is staying out too long on some shifts . I like Maurice but there is no reason to have Scheif or Wheeler killing penalties , we have lots of forwards that don't usually get a tonne of ice time that can do the penalty killing . Plus i really think Scheif likes beating and out scoring Segin . ;)

i mean, we know that skill and finesse certainly weren't his "thing"

Remember when Kulikov caused people to have nightmares due to the unpleasant connotation of a Jets D-man playing with #5 on his back?

Now, raise your hands if you, at any point of the game, were in a total WTF mode, watching Roslovic play RW with #28 and thinking he was Laine?

Anyone who has sat in section 107 or 108 by the visitor tunnel is probably familiar with The Heckler. Well he was in fine form last night. Got into some funny banter with Anton Khudobin, who couldn't help but respond in kind!

Good night at the barn. One of the better efforts at both ends of the ice we've seen from the boys.

Love beating a divisinal rival in such convincing fashion. Great games by Lowry, Kuli, Helley and Connor. Would love to have Ehlers back but Roslo looked just fine on the 2nd line, man I love this teams depth! Go Jets Go!
