The Warriors will be playing 83 regular season games next year. 82 + 1 all-star game
NBA season is over

The Raps could've signed LeBron and still would've lost in 4 or 5 in the finals

not 1 team offered Boogie a contract. Also, look up the history of big men post Achilles injuries... That said, they were winning even if he didnt sign so meh.

Lakers sign Rajon Rondo. Guess they've got #2 of their big 3! :sarcasm:

They're also apparently exploring the possibility of Chris Bosh coming out of retirement to join LeBron.

Look out world, The Lakers are going to be a force! :sarcasm:
I mean, if you are gonna lose to Warriors, at least don’t live in Cleveland I guess. Which isn’t the worst logic in the world.

If Tyreke Evans can get $12m and Dante "paper mache and popsicle sticks" Exum can get $11m per for 3 years, i feel really good about Van Vleet at $9m per.

Why is anyone mad at cousins. No one in the league offered him a contract, he then went about making his own deal, blame the other 29 teams for not making him an offer in free agency, not him.

I’m hoping the warriors go 16-0 in the playoffs winning by like 20 point averages just to make t hilarious.

People aren't mad at Cousins (though I wonder if the player's union will be); they're mad at the Warriors, because this superteam bullshit is honestly making the league worse. Again, a question frequently asked all season, and for the past few seasons; since everyone has a good idea who is and isn't likely to appear in the finals, why should fans even bother watching? And this just cements that.
Is Lebron good enough to overcome the Warriors, even with guys like Rondo and the corpse of Chris Bosh (and Lonzo Ball)? Who can say, but still; it'll come down to the Lakers & the Warriors, and the winner of that will likely win the championship. And THAT's what's pissing people off. For all the whining about parody "ruining" the NHL, it's far more interesting when you don't really know who's going to win year to year. Yeah, Chicago and Los Angeles and Pittsburgh have been successful recently, but not all of those teams were picked to win before the season even started...

So what exactly would you prefer GS do? Make their team worse to please everyone?

Everyone complains when players get paid and don't live up to their contract. Now you have star players taking pay cuts so that management can keep something special together and everyone is complaining about that. You can't please everyone. I for one, like seeing players willing to take less for the betterment of the organization.

Don't compare basketball with hockey. I understand we're in a hockey forum but you're comparing apples with oranges

Seems like some incel nonsense to me.

Except the warriors haven’t done anything against the rules. The Durant signing only happened cause the NBAPA didn’t want to smooth out the cap increase, the cousins signing happens because no one wanted to take a chance on cousins. You can’t be mad at the Warriors for taking advantage of the stupidity of the league. If anyone you should be mad at the other owners for being so stupid.

Also the best point is if you hate the warriors make your team better. Trade for better players, pay the luxury tax etc.

The Warriors are the Warriors because they locked up their home grown stars to long term deals before they broke out. That's the end all be all of the whole situation. Curry was a barely walking chronic ankle injury and they got him on the cheap. He broke out into an MVP after signing that deal. If him and Klay don't break out when they do, they don't become a premier destination and the rest is history.

This is a homegrown championship team that was built so well they had room to add another MVP. This Boogie business is a bit over-hyped I think. Don't get me wrong, he could come back and be a beast but I think that's super unlikely. Then he goes and then the cap finally comes crashing down on them

I think people underestimate how much of a minefield the NBA cap structure is and for this to all work out the way it did is either crazy talented or crazy lucky.

Yet the NHL is falling way behind in terms of popularity and growth.

So because Golden State drafted and developed Steph/Klay/Draymond and were able to manage the cap well enough to sign Durant fans are upset at the NBA? Makes sense......... Cousins isn't playing until January and most teams probably don't have that luxury to sign and stash a guy until January.

I thought it was pretty funny that the Lakers said they couldn't afford that luxury. Uh, you're literally the Lakers.

And really, any playoff calibre team could afford it. The Raps signed Sullinger for 6m and waited until January for him, to which he was then tossed aside for Tucker. But, if you're gonna sign for the MLE, might as well be with the best team of our generation.

When you go back to the 2005 NHL lockout until now there has been 8 different Stanley Cup winning organisations. In the same amount of time, the NBA has seen 7. The supposed greater parity in the NHL is not real, it's a trick with the standings. With the NBA people are easily drawn in by what makes the NBA so powerful; the drama of the narrative. So the unbeatable super team that's pissing people off is really what makes the league so popular.

What hurts the league? Crap run teams like the Magic, Nets, Suns, Kings etc.. who are bad year after year after year because they can't draft, overvalue trash players and never even get kinda good. We should know, we were that club and it wasn't because the Lakers were amazing w/ Shaq and Kobe

Its also partially on players for asking for Pejorative Slured contracts from these teams that hamstring them for years.

There are some players earning 20m a year that are barely starters.

The NBA salary structure and collective agreement seem WAY out of whack!!!

Each year I get less and less interested. This has been happening for the past 4-6 yrs for me.

And things are getting worse for me re. Any interest in this league.

It's a function of the league revenues and the number of roster of players. As ridiculously overpaid as the players are, my biggest issue is the lack of parity.

I now have some optimism of at least having a chance to make it to the finals, but beyond that, it's basically near hopeless for 29 teams in the league as long as the Warriors are at their peak.
