LMAO random whistles if the refs in this series are the ones who “earned” it the most then just fire all them.

Yes, it should have been a GI penalty.

The fact that Florida has been given the benefit of the doubt on all the shit they've caused these playoffs should cost a whole division of people their jobs.

What a detestable basket of deplorables the team from Sunrise is.
I mean he was obviously pushed in, Hillary.

As opposed to team Tomahawk over in Vegas…

1 entire penalty ( a flop) was called this game. NHL is turning into more sh** year by year. You have no idea what you will get. One game the refs will call a bunch (5+ penalties each). Next game, 1 entire call lol.

He was, and had an opportunity to back out well before the contact that cause Hill to drop his stick. The second, unassisted dive into Hill is why they blew the whistle, but in the name of "letting them play" they didn't put Vegas on the powerplay.

Which is worse?

I kind of enjoyed tonight's game, but my team stinks at special teams.

Letting them play would be letting them play, and not blowing a whistle for nothing.

Yeah this was the issue the Panthers had with the officiating early this series. Completely different standard out of nowhere and then you see tonight when they revert back. The cross check at the end was pretty funny when you look at what cross checks the Panthers got called for in the first 3 games

Panthers try to toe the line and that’s impossible to do well when you can’t figure out what the line is

Aka we were allowed to do what we wanted for 3 series but not agaisnt Vegas. To me, it's clear the league has a bit of an agenda.

Don't crosscheck people is the line.

Hockey has made it to where it's semi-acceptable, but that's the risk you take...you leave it up to others. Just don't crosscheck people.

There were probably 50 crosschecks this game, especially since most faceoffs involve one, complaining when one you saw on TV wasn't called seems useless.

It's the gray area of the game that basically boils down to not being an asshole when you don't need to be, at least the way it's called.

So then don’t cross check people isn’t the line?

Gray area in hockey officiating makes sense to some degree. Usually the standard is to be heavy handed when a play impacts a potential scoring chance and call only more egregious violations in other situations.

That makes sense. It’s how the game was officiated tonight and most of the playoffs

But that’s not how games 1-3 were officiated which has been the main complaint. People are just looking for consistency and it’s really hard to have seen the Panthers sent to the box and even the locker room left and right for far less than what we saw on that late cross check

It's funny because some Panthers fans seem to acknowledge that they had the benefit of the refs looking the other way previously. But now it's unfair when there's a perception that the opposing team might be getting that same benefit.

I'm just saying once there's a gray area, it's gray af and you're up to trusting the people on the ice.

I know Vegas crosschecks f***ers often, I know every team against us crosschecks us often.

I just don't know where the line is other than the "a reasonable hockey person would assume this should be a penalty," which is how they call it, but I don't actually know what that means. I don't think anyone does, so we argue.

Nobody said that. It won’t kill you to admit a call or two favored your team
I've done that multiple times.

I've said there was one or two edgy ones that went our way, and there was a couple edgy ones that went your way. Game three was a travesty, but you guys rectified it and won a game you probably should have won.

I think I've been pretty fair in this whole thing, but the ref bitching is excessive, IMO.

EDIT: I'll even say that it wasn't one or two versus a couple. More have gone our way. I also think Florida is a rattier (is that a word?) team where it shouldn't be even, and we should get the benefit of the doubt. That's probably my bias. I'll admit it.

We should get a couple more calls than you because VGK isn't as ratty as Florida and you guys just commit more penalties.

Toe the line? There has been no effort to maintain any self control the entire playoffs. It only now has been called this round.
