They didn’t have to scrap as hard against the Leafs.... idk.
The whining is indeed incessant from LeafLand. Freaking pitiful.

To be fair to the Fla fans I've been pushing back on. The ref absolutely should have called a penalty on Hill. Yes, Tachuk was doing stupid things. But the ref gave them both some leeway. But as soon as he comes over to separate them it should be over. That's when Hill gave the extra little whack. Which even if I was a Vegas fan. I wouldn't mind my tender getting a penalty for that. Love the fire in Hill.lol @ anyone thinking Hill deserved a penalty on that. Matthew was provoking and starting shit.

No, the ref comes over to say something, then Tkachuk gives Hill one last shot before he skates away so Hill returned it. Both went at each other.
Rule 93-Spearing. Spearing shall mean stabbing an opponent with the point of the stick blade, whether contact is made or not.So has it been mentioned that Adin Hill actually speared Tkachuk last game right in front of the ref after Matthew got up and collided with the goaltenders pads - onnoxious yes, but not worthy of a spear.
And I think Hill's been amazing and so have the Golden Knights. I'm just disappointed with the reffing and I can't remember the last time I complained about reffing (maybe I can, last years playoffs round 2 between Edmonton and Calgary).
Anyway, yes Adin gave Matthews stomach the point end of his big blade. And added all is said and done Tkachuk ends up with 2 10 min misconducts as did 2 other Panthers with single 10s apiece (Duclair and E Staal).
Sad.
To the fans of florida who are now crying about how the refs weren't calling this stuff before why now, man are they inconsistant etc...BE GLAD THEY WERE INCONSISTANT...if they had called it all in the beginning you most likely wouldn't even be in the Finals!
And 1 more thing...You are now finding out EXACTLY why Calgary was willing to trade Tkachuk...he's a selfish player always thinking about his stats and himself...in spite of what he may say to make himself look good...too bad the best player in the family is retired.
1. Tkachuk goes into the net and goes after the back of Hill's legs
2. Hill gives Tkachuk a bit of a crosscheck
3. Tkachuk swipes at Hill's face when leaving the crease
4. Hill gives Tkachuk a love tap on the hip as he skates away
Following the sequence even a retaliation penalty would likely be called on Tkachuk for swiping at Hill's face when he was skating away. Again, this is a sequence you either take both or neither based on the antics of the individuals. The entire thing was more of a scrum than any kind of retaliation
Even that was a nothing play when you look at the entire sequence of events, it was a love tap with no real force behind it. Could the refs have called it? sure, but they could have called about 4 different penalties. It's easy to see why they let it goThe most egregious part of that whole sequence was Hill swinging the point if his stick into Tkachuk's stomach. Everything else was not much of anything.
Seems everything Vegas does with their sticks are just “a love taps” according to their fans.Even that was a nothing play when you look at the entire sequence of events, it was a love tap with no real force behind it. Doubtful, Tkachuk didn’t even bat an eye at it. Just skated away like there was no indication of any force behind it. Hill uses the flat face of the goalie stick and gets him on what looks like the lower hip/ass cheekI totally disagree. There was plenty of force to injure Tkachuk.

The only threat to injury was Tkachuk trying to take out Hill’s legs from behind while he was down on the ice
Uhhhh shoulder pad???Totally disagree. Hill's stick swing with the pointed end at his stomach/groin was far worse. Far worse. It just didn't connect properly, probably hit the shell padding of Tkachuks pants or a stomach/shoulder pad.
Tkachuk didn’t seem to mind too much, didn’t complain or even look at Hill or the ref.I totally disagree. There was plenty of force to injure Tkachuk.
That's not what happened. What it again, Tkachuk initiates again after the ref came over.To be fair to the Fla fans I've been pushing back on. The ref absolutely should have called a penalty on Hill. Best post on this entire threadSo using that as an example, a team can't complain if they get away with that sort of thing at first, then get called on it later. A penalty is a penalty. Getting away with it due to one ref's discretion doesn't make it not-a-penalty and out of bounds for any other ref to call it. If the potential for getting penalized is a concern, the solution is not to do that thing. If you want to play the hard-nosed game and take that risk, then you have to accept that you're making yourself vulnerable to penalty calls.
I can say that I've seen Vegas fans rail on players for taking stupid penalties more than any other fanbase. Judging by comments here, it seems like it's Vegas gooning it up on Flariduh and the Cats are innocent angels just trying to play hockey. My fave was "Tkachuk could have been injured!"Seems everything Vegas does with their sticks are just “a love taps” according to their fans.
