It's still real to me dammit.

Same reason individuals watch WWE and reality TV shows, entertainment.
You forgot horse racing

Bias means they tend to interpret infractions differently for different teams or players. Rigged means it is preordained that Team X will win, no matters what it takes.

Vegas has seen both sides of bias. I think rigged is a word for tinfoil hatters.
And Tim Donaghy

This exactly.

How about the NFL, NBA and MLB -- are they all staged too?
Bubba Smith said till his dying day that Earl Morrall threw the interception rather than to a wide open Jimmy Orr in Super Bowl 3 because the fix was in

The same reason fans of the WWE bitch about the storylines there
Kinda like my grandmother did when she watched soap operas

Were there bias when LA won multiple cups or did the bias only start after that? ;)
Exactly. that's the thing. When LA was on their run there were people saying there was bias to get a large market but non-traditional team to win. When the Wings were good it was the Ref Wings.

The officiating isn't great. But the bias or conspiracy stuff is because people are mad that the team they want to win is losing.

If the slash happened on the puck carrier and caused a turnover, it would have been called.
Then why does a light tap of the stick by MT where the other player drops his stick result in a penalty? The Zebras are either clueless or managing the game. I love hockey above every other sport, and I think that the officiating in the NHL is an embarrassment for what is supposed to be the best league in the world. Every true fan of the sport should expect something way better, as in the leagues in Europe. Something smells fishy, but I don't want to believe that there's any tampering going on. There's something wrong, and I can't shake that feeling off of me.

This is what I think gets lost on the people who complain about people complaing about the officiating. While it may not be biased in favour of certain teams it is objectively horrific. Always has been but I've noticed a trend of it becoming a lot worse in recent years, to the point that it's almost likely you'll see series deciding calls on a regular basis. I don't recall it being that bad my entire life and now the inconsistency and game management is laughably bad.

I also believe on top of this teams have made more of an effort of walking the line, diving, doing whatever they can to get an edge, so it's not entirely all on the refs but I still believe they could and should be much better.

I think Vegas is the better team but it does feel like the games have been called tighter in the finals compared to earlier rounds and that seemed to hurt Florida a lot because of their style of play and the way Vegas dominated the special teams battle early in the series.

They seemed to let them play more in game 4 and Vegas still won anyway. I do get the frustration with the inconsistency of the reffing from game to game or series to series but unfortunately it is part of the game. You have to overcome it.
In what other professions with a really high level of responsibility is it acceptable to deliver continuous suspiciously bad results, where the outcome of your decisions that have a massive impact on the product? The NHL is great only because the best players in the world are drawn there. The league itself with its management is crap. The regular season is more interesting for me at this point, because I just want to watch the best hockey in the world and not care about that crap.

They are not connected in any way...

I just want to see the best of the best in an even set scenario. The refs are doing a piss poor job reffing, for whatever reason. Incompetence or tampering, I don't know or care. The product is a disappointment on all levels because of their actions.

I think the reffing has been poor but Florida hasn't been good enough 100% and you just tip your cap to vegas. Florida deserves to be down 2. I'm not going to be a Leafs/Bruins/Canes fan and use the refs as a cope for my team shitting the bed. Play better.

Like the refs have been bad both sides but are Vegas fans complaining?

Blaming the refs is loser talk.
Yeah it could be. but you know they could call the game how its suppose to be instead of just putting away the whistles and allowing dirty teams to do whatever they want. how about calling the game by the rules that are in place? I agree letting them play isnt a bad thing either but every game is different. every ref has their own style of what they will allow and what they will not. they should all follow the same rules and call it 100% even every time. missed calls happen as well and thats fine but give me a break when a player is slashing or doing other stupid stuff right in front of them and nothing happens.

fans 100% have the right to call the refs out when they wont call an even game.

You keep track of missed calls that would favor Florida and I'll keep track of the missed calls that would favor Vegas.

We'll compare lists at the end of game 5.

Deal?

When they call the game to the letter, ppl bitch about not letting them play. The best we can ask for is that plays are called the same no matter the logo on the sweaters.
