If we can’t include management moves (as in not hiring certain GMs) this was the one.

Imagine coming out of the McDavid draft with Barzal also. He was right there for the taking. Other good options there too at the pick. But he was the guy I wanted. The other one was Joel Eriksson EK. Either guy would have been great to have let alone the additional options with the 2nd round pick.
The rumor was that Erikkson-Ek (who would have been a better fit than Barzal) and Carlo would have been their guys with those picks so Reinhart for Erikkson-Ek and Carlo essentially. Oof

there are bigger moves they could re-do, but if the canucks re-sign willie mitchell in the summer of 2010 i believe they go on to win the cup so that's the one.

Maximizing value for Subban in getting picks and prospects back to start a proper rebuild instead of trading him for an older declining player 1 for 1.
When in retrospect PK was declining at an increased rate. We've made far worse trades than PK for Weber.

How about not unceremoniously stripping the C off Rod Brindamour's chest mid season in early 2010 and giving it to Eric Staal just because they went into a tailspin. Oh, and also not shipping off Matt Cullen and letting Ray Whitney walk.

First thing that came to mind was the Leafs trading the 1991 1st round pick for Tom Kurvers. That 1st round pick was used to select hall of famer Scott Neidermeyer. Im sure theres a worse one Im not thinking about but having Neidermeyer would've been great.

Let Vlasic walk and use the money to resign Pavelski to a 6Mx5 in 2019.

I know this is technically two things, but if Vlasic wasn't resigned to that horrid contract it would have happened anyways.

Post lockout, you get one move to redo at any point, you can fire someone or not fire someone or trade someone or not trade for someone etc. What move would you redo?
Only one?

That is a tough thing to ask.

I don't want to hear Brian Burke talk about truculence. What a load of.......

And still no cup though. Tim Thomas won that thing.

Who cares. A Vezina trophy, backstopped the Bruins to two Cup finals himself, and set numerous Bruins goaltending records along the way.

That's far more than any Leaf has been able to say they've accomplished on their resume. Let alone that stiff Raycroft.

That move set the franchise back a decade plus.

Surprised the 2015 draft hasn’t been mentioned yet
- Bruins
If the Jacobs puppets/good ol boys still living off Raymond Jean Bourque, hit on one of those three picks. Just one. Barzal or Connor or even Boeser instead of thinking they are the smartest people in hockey and swinging and missing on all three they win that cup in 19

And, one of the worst coaching decision blunders of all hockey time
Cassidy playing Karsum f***ing kuhlman in game 7 at home instead of David f***ing Backes, against his former club.

Either one of those gets the Chara his 2nd cup and Backes doing a Bourque

Don't trade for Andrew MacDonald. Instead, use the picks on the players taken in those slots, Ilya Sorokin and Brandon Carlo. This also frees up a ton of money we could use much better.

Alternate options: don't trade for Bryzgalov, therefore not necessitating the trade of Sergei Bobrovsky; draft either Heiskanen or Makar instead of Nolan Patrick; don't acquire Steve Eminger from Washington, instead draft John Carlson, who was taken with that pick; hire Bill Zito to replace Ron Hextall instead of Chuck Fletcher; hire Eric Tulsky to replace Chuck Fletcher instead of Danny Brière.

If the goal is to win the 10-11 cup, Kopitar does that better, hell they probably win a few.

kopitar changes everything so you don't know that. the team could make a lot of different moves by 2011 with him in the lineup.

mitchell is a known quantity who if re-signed incrementally improves the defence in a known fashion for the cup year run that went to a game 7 anyway and he means we don't have cap tied up in ballard so we can add depth.

Fairly sure the Leafs still suck today if they never traded Rask.

Do you disagree with that?
