Zagidulin's Dad
That bit sounds like a young(ish) Bouwmeester.
Honestly kind of like him.
Much more physical though, like Pronger really. Thats his potential anyway.

So....not Shea Weber? He doesn't have his shot either and Jones is more offensive minded.
I don't think anyone really compares to Jones directly. Parts of his game you can compare, but as a whole he has a rare combination of size, skill, and speed that hasn't been seen in quite some time.
Is jones generational talent the same way Sid was?
He is so good. ive seen him play many times live and it's unbelievable. When I watch other players that are possible 1st rounders, they have nothing on Jones. Jones makes the other high picks look like they should be like 4-5th rounders. If a team doesn't take him 1st overall, it will be a GIANT mistake for years. He does everything imaginable right while on the ice. Everything from positional play to joining the rush to defensive zone coverage to quarterbacking the PP, he does top notch. I am so glad I was able to see him play many times in junior because this will be his only season playing in the WHL. Soon to be excelling in the NHL next year. Oh ya and not to mention his dad was 6'8 and 250 lbs, so he will most likely get bigger than his already 6'3 200 lbs frame.
So answering your opening question.... Absolutely, without a doubt
No. Nathan Mackinnon isn't being labeled as a generational talent and many people have him above Seth Jones. If Jones was a generational talent, he'd be a lock for #1 by pretty much everyone, no?
was he getting mainstream hype at 12?
Crosby was....just saying...
He has the potential to be.
The only player in the next few years even comparable to Crosby's level is McDavid.
Perhaps it's because I'm not a scouting expert, prospect guru or all around hockey genius but I am not even sure what is meant by 'generational' talent. It seems to be used pretty commonly around here which kind of defeats the purpose of the term doesn't it?
I have heard people say Jones' upside is something along the lines of Pronger. Obviously a great player, but generational? Throughout much of his career considered the undisputed best player? Record setter? Changed the way the game was played?
this is mostly where i'm going. Even McDavid's attention is coming a bit later then Crosbies was, no?
