I feel he’s good enough to get ES without having to threaten to leave for the states, he isn’t some borderline case like Misa or Veleno, I think he’s clearly approaching McDavid/Bédard/Tavares levels of ES type players
he'd never see college though so why play at a lower level for 3 years, plus unless you play 2 or more college years why bother. Top end talent is much better off going the chl route unless theyre undersizedIt might just come down to him preferring the CHL or USHL/NCAA route.
Who wouldn't want to go the Steel and their pro-level development program.
Follow in Makar’s footsteps since it worked for him?he'd never see college though so why play at a lower level for 3 years, plus unless you play 2 or more college years why bother. Top end talent is much better off going the chl route unless theyre undersized

Difference is Dupont is MILES ahead of Makar at the same age.Follow in Makar’s footsteps since it worked for him?
Me personal opinion is I don’t see much benefit for him flung that route. He’ll only likely play 1 year in NCAA and I think someone of his talent needs to be playing Junior whether it’s USHL or W as quickly as possible. Does anyone here know the rules around 15 year olds in the USHL better than me?It would be terrible for the CHL if DuPont goes the NCAA route. Hopefully that doesn't happen.
There's no exceptional status. He can play 2025-26 season in the USHL, but not 2024-25.Me personal opinion is I don’t see much benefit for him flung that route. Agreed, but the WHL has been notoriously difficult to grant ES. Savoie, at the time was seen as a VERY good option to receive it. He applied, had amazing numbers against players many years older but still got denied. The belief is that Savoie said he wouldn't report to Prince George if they won the draft lottery, and that's why he didn't receive exceptional status. Then PG didn't end up winning the lottery anyway, so Savoie made his bed and had to sleep in it.Agreed, but the WHL has been notoriously difficult to grant ES. A lot of people also forget that both Brayden Yager and Riley Heidt applied and got denied ES the same year Bedard applied. At the time all 3 were seen as super talents out of the west, and all three have been prolific scorers in the WHL. But I think the WHL want to keep it to where only kids like Bedard get it. No disrespect to Yager or Heidt, but they’re not Bedard. So because of it, Dupont may not be granted it if Hockey Canada comes to the conclusion that he isn’t a generational star like Bedard.
Looking back on it, it’s a good thing none of those 3 got granted ES. It’s supposed to be for the best of the best guys that leave the league as soon as they get drafted, Bedard is that. Is Dupont on that level? I don’t think so.
I rather believe in the hypothesis that he was not dominant enough. His stats weren't impressive enough. The belief is that Savoie said he wouldn't report to Prince George if they won the draft lottery, and that's why he didn't receive exceptional status. I don’t know a lot about pelosi, but dupont is the best CHL défense prospect I’ve seen since Ekblad at sun county, if not better. Perhaps big dog or you could provide some context as to how Pelosi compares to recent MSC stars like Hagens or Boisvert? ThanksWho is better between Dupont and Pelosi?
Dupont obviously as Pelosi is an old woman.Who is better between Dupont and Pelosi?
Tournament MVP and Top Defenseman as the second youngest player that the event. The youngest was his teammate Brock England, although he was a call-up for this team and isn't a permanent roster player like DuPont.
I couldn't figure out if he's the youngest to ever take home tournament MVP, going back to 1978 and trying to find ages for all those guys is a bit tough, but I wouldn't be surpised if he was the youngest MVP or at least in the top 3-5 youngest.
