Confirmed with Link: Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee traded to Calgary for Andrei Kuzmenko, Jakob Pelletier, 2025 2nd, 2028 7th

Im so happy for Farabee and Frost to finally be free of this stupid organization. When was the last time the Flyers won a trade? I’d say I was done with this organization but I don’t watch anymore or buy hats or stuff with logos on it. I gave away both my Jerseys because wearing Flyer’s gear always brings up the “How are they doing?” question and who wants to explain to non hockey fans the state of this team?

Until Clarke, Barber and the entire former player country club is removed from the Front office and coaching staff, nothing will change. Danny Briere makes it easy to see that he learned how to be a gm from Chuck Fletcher.

I’d say Comcast should sell the team but it’s probably too valuable for them as tax write off than any potential profits a successful team might bring in.

The NHL has to step in at some point. Oh yeah Gary Bettman is commissioner.

The Higher you go the more corrupt and stupid people you get.

I’d just like to take this opportunity to introduce the idea of everyone here, as a group, totally abandoning this dead franchise and switching fandom to a completely different team, in a completely different sport.

That way we maintain this board’s dynamic while removing the biggest source of irritation from the equation.

We just rebrand the board, delete all old threads, change some usernames/avatars, and pretend nothing happened. Nobody will even notice.

Just need to find a team that doesn’t have a single person named Bobby, Keith, Danny, or John employed and were set.
And root for a non Philadelphia based team? Yeah right. I’m here for Philly. The teams based here better represent the city properly or they can fxc# right off.

Here’s Pelletier’s WJC highlights, Drysdale’s there too. I’d forgotten about him. Tiny scrappy player, Briere might be his biological father…

It's not a huge loss, it was obvious neither player was a good fit going forward.
Should have gotten more value, but the trade won't even help a good tank.

You could plug Abols in at center, Richard/Lycksell at LW and not have that big of a falloff. Abols has size, decent speed, smarts and a modicum of skill. Not a long-term solution but can patch for a year or two. Took him a couple months to adjust to NA hockey but looks like a NHL player.
Do you actually read or think what you type before you hit "post reply"? Obviously not

Anyone with any sense knows this is a really bad hockey deal. If I thought this was part of a tank, I would live with it but I doubt it is that. This is a cap dump to create cap space to either make another trade or to use in free agency. Flyers will always Flyer

This was a trade for Torts. If was a trade made for all the wrong reasons. Thats my biggest issue with it.

This guy is running the team into the ground.

Its for a Cates extension. His 2 week hot streak will earn him an 8 year deal.

I don't see any demonizing, Torts gave Frost and Farabee plenty of chances to prove themselves.

Farabee flatlined, maybe b/c he adjusted quickly with his smarts but over time his physical limitations won out, he never filled out and isn't that strong, he has average speed, average shot though good hands near the net, but lacks the anchor for the dirty area. He's better than he's shown this season (Sh% is half his norm), but never developed into a reliable 2LW. Good scorer who needs to play with better players.

Same with Frost, who had his best season two years ago (under Torts) but hasn't been able to build upon it. He just lacks "it," he's good in open ice but simply isn't a great playmaker in the "half court" or on the PP. Very good but not great speed and he doesn't play as fast as his timed speed. He's never been able to add functional strength and gets knocked off the puck too easily. He's responsible defensively but depends on his stick. A dependable middle six center who was never able to develop into a 2C.

They don't fit the Flyers style, which is fast and physical down the middle (Cates, Poehling, Jett), allowing a mix of size and skill at wing (TK, Brink, Michkov and Tippett, Foerster). Which suggests they're looking for another center in trade/the draft who fits their prototype - full size, above average speed, high IQ, two way player.

This move suggests Briere is ready for a fire sale this spring, if they thought they could stay in the playoff race they'd have waited until June to move Frost.
Sigh, welcome back Pravda.

Some of the homies still watch the dumpster fire out of apathy, some of the homies are still holding on for hope. The organization doesn't deserve your attention. They don't deserve your time or your family's time. Have they reciprocated anything to the fan base in the last decade plus? All they give are the generic hockey guy platitudes and BSB mentality. Regurgitated hires for head coaches. Draft picks that follow their style of players that probably don't get you anywhere near the Cup and put you in sports purgatory which is being a middling team. Mayhaps it's time for the holdout homies to ponder the question: Does this franchise deserve my loyalty and fandom after the last decade plus of futility?

I’m looking into sports that involved trained dolphins at the moment so I’ll post a list of possible teams/cities to support and we can see if Philly is on it.

Frost had his best season at 23 in his first full season in the NHL. Riveting stuff.

Waking up to this news was incredible. I was spoiled on the full details, so reading the first few pages here and the reactions to how bad it was before even half of the details were revealed was hilarious. You were all so young and innocent back then all of those hours ago thinking it couldn't get worse...
