Laugh your ass off looking in the mirror. Your style of post is why I prefer not to be on HF boards.

Comprehension seems to be an issue or you want a fight. My post said I doubt we get a 1st. Go somewhere else with your posting style.
Well doubting to get a 1st , when is impossible for Allen , shows that your evaluation of a player is off . That style of post is why habs fans get laugh at on the main board .

I don't think you comprehended my post and the trail of post replies well. With 50% retention, I see lots of teams in on the 2nd rounder value.... Which might snag us a 2nd+. Allen is not a pure rental and he is a very solid backup. Lots of contenders have goalie challenges. Supply/Demand is how TDL prices are set.

Relax on the doubt we get a 1st. Why? Because your ignoring the main message. Allen is probably one of the best available options as a back-up and if we offer 50% retention, that's going to gain interest. Teams will be more open to adding him at the TDL or this summer vs the start of this season.

We will see. A 2nd rounder from contenders is 50+ pick. Decent value for sure but Allen for two playoffs at $1.925M is also worth something. Are you going to spin back the 4th rounder+ with a 50% narrative? :sarcasm:

No retention, Johansen + 2nd/3rd kinda deal
I don't think the Avs would do it (they don't value goalies and wouldn't allocate about $8MM to two of them), but I think your idea of value seems reasonable and fair.

That's what we want for Savard
You want as 1st round pick + Bourque for Savard (50% retained). You can't be serious on that ask.

If you got one or the other, you did well.

Fair, I certainly wouldn't say that's overspending on the position but Colorado does seem to try to moneyball it in net. I wonder if they'll rethink that and try to go for a guy who they're comfortable starting 25-30 games though to keep Georgiev fresher

They definitely do. The Avs will likely add a goalie before the deadline, but I think he'll be making less OR on an expiring deal.

Sakic knows goalies are voodoo. They get hot, they get cold, they are weird and they are inconsistent. Very few are good enough to go long on and feel good about that contact.

Geo was awesome last year. Great saves above expectation ranking. This year he kinda stinks and well below the average in terms of saves above expectation. He was amazing vs Vancouver the other night. Was swiss cheese vs Florida the week before.

If Allen were on an expiring deal, I could see it. But if the Habs retain 50% ($1.925MM AAV), then I could see the Avs poke around and pull the trigger. Maybe offer someone like Oskar Olausson (2021 1st round pick). 11G and 20 points in 39 AHL games. He's 21. 6'2 L shot plays either wing. I guess I'd say he's worth maybe a low 2nd or 3rd round pick in value. Sean Behrens (LHD - defensive defender and closer to NHL ready) could be on the table in exchange of Oskar. If Avs throw in another 4th round pick... so be it. The Avs don't seem to value picks past round 1 anyway.

Hes living proof why advanced stats shouldn't be taken seriously.
It's advanced stats that lead the Avs from office to target Valeri Nichushkin, Artturi Lehkonen, D Toews, reach on drafting Cale Makar.. buy low on Kadri, Burakovsky and Georiev.

The Avs pro scouting department loves advanced stats and they should not be taken seriously because the Avs have no idea what they are doing in roster construction.

Does the player have a strong jaw? How about the way he carries himself and how tall is he? Does he like blondes or brunettes? These are the important scouting questions. Eye test is everything.

I believethe Habs will get a 1st or equivalent for Savard if he moves. More ? Ask our G.M.
I'll be disappointed if he was moved for less than a 1st, even if that might mean he doesn't get moved at all.

Asking for a prospect like Bourque is probably overkill, most teams don't like moving prospects for rentals or near-rentals, getting Barron for Lehkonen was fairly exceptional. (Tippett for Giroux was more of a case of Florida giving up on Tippett than anything else, IMHO)

I can't see anyone giving a 1st for Savard anymore. But if any team can prove me wrong when it comes to getting 1st rounders for their players, its Montreal.
Savard worth more than a first to us. He's right shot, where we weak. He's quality veteran for our young defensemen. We can trade him in a year and get 75% what we can now.

If the Oilers gave us the 30th overall pick for him now, why deal him? When we can trade Savard in a year for a 2nd?

So maturity is how we're taking this conversation, ha ha.
