RD Bode Wilde (2018, 41st, NYI)

Wilde has GP-19 G-5 A-15 Pts-20 and getting loads of TOI. PP PK and top2 D if he gets some help on D it will only make him develop more rapid. Team needs team defense to improve.
you would have to expect both Wilde and K'Andre Miller getting invites soon to the US WJC camp..both have looked real good, both play the game you want it played in today's NHL...when you push the needle like they do you will get some mistakes, but as long as you let them redeem themselves on the ice after a mistake, both kids typically have been able to do that.

I’m shocked that Miller didn’t initially get invented in the summer. Really would be nice to see both get a shot.

He was atrocious at WJC18, terrible in decision making, it affected his draft stock a lot, visibly it doesn't seem to have been representative of his game. Unfortunately that is the only time I have seen him play so I had him ranked around where he got drafted, I had him much higher prior to the tournament.

He was the same way with the NTDP, so the WJC18 was not an aberration. Wilde's always demonstrated offensive skills -- it's his defensive abilities and decision-making that have been in question.

camp list isn't out yet, USA Hockey typically drops their list after Canada (NCAA gets a later start than the CHL)...hopefully we have something by the weekend..I would be upset if he isn't on that list - he has earned at least a chance to go to camp and show how he has improved.

I still don't get why he wasn't invited to the Summer Camp even if it wasn't only for the experience since he might play in next year's tournament(as a 19 year od)

They were overly reactionary to his bad WJC18. He wasn't the only one who was bad at that tournament.

Not invited to the WJ camp while 4 other D picked after him (Callahan, Emberson, Keane, St. Ivany) are all going. Wonder what his chances of making the team are next year if USA is already brushing him off.

Probably none.

He was pegged by team USA as a problem kid for some reason or other, whether it be his spotty D or his poor academics, who is to say. I highly doubt anything Bode does at this point changes the coaching staffs' minds
