I swear, and someone called the Rangers an exploitable East-West team, and the other said that this team isn't known for dictating possession. Well, when you go an entire season dressing guys like Gauthier, Hunt, Reaves, some in the top-9, what surprises you about that? Since Drury went out and added loads of depth, they have been superb in dictating North-South, aggressive forechecking and play.

Not true. They can theoretically sign all 3 assuming they are looking for about 10 mil between them, (Copp 5M, Vatrano 3M, Motte 2M). Let Strome, Geo, Rooney walk. Thats 8 mil right there. Trade Nemeth, maybe Reaves. That's another 4 mil. They will probably bridge Kakko and may not resign Blais. It definitely can be done.

I would hope Blais comes back. Can’t imagine he is too big a cap hit. Unfortunately for him. Subban owes him, really. Maybe the $1m cap growth next year will cover that deal?

They can kid themselves all they want. This is not the same team that had Hunt on the 2nd line and AHL plugs like Mckegg and Gauthier getting plenty of minutes, plus a healthy Kakko will be back soon. The Rangers are going to make it very difficult for their playoff opponents.

Can we talk about how we've allowed only 4 goals total to this team in 3 games without Shesterkin having to stand on his head in any of the games? Oh and 1 goal 5 on 5 to Brian f***ing Boyle. We own both Crosby and Malkin. This is the quietest I've seen those two against the Rangers (of course Malkin missed one game) since they started playing in Pittsburgh.

The team has been drastically improved by Vatrano, Copp and Motte.

It's amazing what happens when your front office actually puts a minimal degree of thought into which players to acquire at the deadline as opposed to just going out and getting fun names and stuff.

I couldn't agree more. The pickups were really smart. There was a lot of care and thought put into the overall construction and versatility of the additions. Very impressed -- i'm sorta amazed at how quickly all 3 forwards have fit right in and not looked out of place. That can be hard with 1 new player, let alone 3.

Best trade deadline return since Brassard, Clowe, and John Moore all put up big points against the Penguins in a route in 2013.

that's 100% what drury should do, copp will sign , I don't think drury gives up that draft captial plus barron , he's troubs boy, just in his short tenure he is better than strome, sign copp, frankie v and motte, like you said it can be done , strome is a gonner that's fine by me, only thing is you have to keep reaves , you need a deterrent against the matt martins of the league....rather do this than spend big cap $ on one big name like a Kane or Scheifele , plus prospects invovled.

Credit goes to Drury for pulling the trigger on the trades and Gallant for keeping everyone pulling in the same direction on the team.

Easily the 2nd best team in the Metro and they get to prove it against Carolina coming up in the next few weeks to see who is the best.

Control their own destiny for everything, whether that is home ice in round 1 or the division.

It's crunch time and they're beating the teams making the dance. Team is for real, and everyone else needs to understand.

I feel this too. The rangers are swamping opponents. Like men vs boys. I know it’s not a permanent thing and the playoffs are a different story. But it has been very…easy watching lately. Like watching a suspense movie you’ve seen before.

Yep. They’re pretty solid. Toronto, Pittsburgh, Toronto, TB, Florida, Washington, Boston. We *understand* them. But Carolina is pretty gnarly. They have all kinds of attack styles.
