Since bringing in Copp, Vatrano and Motte—moves that really deepened our forward depth the Rangers have turned into a much better 5v5 team which is good because for whatever reason we haven’t been getting any power plays in the last few games.

Schneider and Miller are also the real deal. A couple/three years from now they’re going to be absolute monsters on our D. Along with Fox and Trouba we’re putting together a great young defense to front an elite goaltender.

Rangers have now won their last 5 games against playoff positioned teams (if you include Dallas who are 1 point out, but with 4 games in hand). 4 of those games on the road.

Just got to figure out how to beat the teams they're supposed to beat.

Reaves really sucks man. I wish he didn't. I really like him as a guy. But f*** he's so slow and useless. Brod and Motte had to work twice as hard to get anything going with him on the ice
I think the issue is he’s just too old to play as much as he’s been forced to play this year because of all the injuries we’ve had upfront.

He was pretty good through like the beginning of December and then the wheels just came off.

Our young D future looks bright.
Key is a moose. Has he gotten bigger since coming up?

Yes, this is correct

Points from elimination

MTL - elmiinated
NJD - 2 points
PHI - 2 points
OTT - 3 points
BUF - 5 points
DET - 9 points
CBJ - 16 points
NYI - 18 points

Rangers magic number is 11 with 15 games remaining
Where is this calculated? Are people just way better at math than me ?

Rhetorical question by the way. I know the answer is yes. But my first question still stands.

To be fair, I didn’t mind their game against the Islanders. The devils game (which they lost) and Buffalo game (which they won) were the only two bad ones lately.

15 games to go. 5 points back of Carolina with the same games played. 10 home games left. Only 5 of the games are against playoff teams (and one against a bubble Winnipeg). Only our game against Boston is on the road of those. We play Carolina twice.

Just keep winning. We basically control our own destiny.

In short, look at each team currently out of playoff position, assume that they will win all of their remaining games and calculate how many points they would have. Then look at the points that the team occupying the last available playoff spot (wildcard 2) and calculate the difference and add one

NJD currently have 53 points with 16 games remaining. If they won all 16 of those remaining games, they would have 85 points. WSH are in the last wildcard spot with 84 points. So if WSH gets 2 points (85 - 84 + 1) in their remaining games, it's mathematically impossible for NJD to make the playoffs.

Great game. Pens didn't give us much this time around, which figured. Their success comes from playing good D. But we stayed patient and gave the puck to Frankie to get us tied and back in the game. Did I call it or did I call it?

Did anyone see how he got that shot off with someone right on top of him? Or how he got so much on that shot to blow right through Jarry? Cause I sure didn't. Even in slow-mo I couldn't follow the puck into the net. Was it 5-hole or under his armpit or what? I know Jarry got a piece of it. Anyway, if you didn't know how good his shot is, I think this one answered all questions.

Add a powerplay goal by Chris and a great setup by the Breadman and we head to Detroit a happy bunch.

agree with this. let him sit until we need him dressed.

They dominated Buffalo. Look at the expected goals by Vally, we should have won 5-2. The only reason it went to OT was Georgiev. He's just a handcap for this team 9 out of every 10 games he plays.
