I don't think the problem is the loss insomuch as it's that we are NOT used to losing like this. How many times has our D/Henrik lost us a game as compared to our offense? Not many that I can think of.

So they shouldn't have shown any emotion at that point? Assuming they didn't before that, which they didn't.

Yeah...I think it's safe to say that the team gave up long before Hertl scored that goal.

Show some emotion when your star forward gets elbowed in the head, not when a rookie has fun because of your incompetence.

I don't think it's about people "sucking", I am just VERY surprised that no one got pissed enough to attempt to do anything about it.

I'm not even talking about the Hertl thing. Just the state of the board in general. Everything and everyone sucks when we're not playing well. It's always time to panic, trade people, our window has closed, and so on. It's ****ing ridiculous.

So Nash sticks up for Stepan yet in a 9-2 game no one challenged Brad Stuart at all for the hit.... someone should have tried to do something... this team is not a team if they dont stick up for each other... you stick up for your goal scorer no matter what the score is...

In all fairness, it was 9-2 blowout. I mean really, 9 goals. It's not like we're losing it over a 4-2 game, even though that also would happen here. I think it's fair to want to say that everybody sucks after losing like that.

It is always one extreme or the other. The most concerning part about last nigt to me was the lack of any fight/emotion. Nash is likely concussed and no retaliation. Does nobody on this team remotely care? Thats something legitimate that people should be worried about. Not that Hank suddenly sucks without Tort or his pads. Game 3.

That is what makes me sick.

Hockey is different here.

There's no need for enforcers.

imagine the response from San Jose if John Moore elbowed Couture in the head.

Not the Rangers...we'll get'em on the scoreboard LMAO

:shakehead

This board ****ing sucks when we're not playing well. I don't know why I even bother.

Tighten it up and play better on Thursday.

The only thing more embarrassing than last nights performance... the PGT thread when all of the "true fans" come out and try and **** all over everything.

That hit didnt even look that bad, at leas the angle I saw. If Nash has another concussion from that hit, then we have bigger problems then players sticking up for teammates.

I just saw that 4th Hertl goal. Disgusting. Disgusting from a Rangers POV and disgusting from a Sharks POV.

Embarrassing. I dont care how early in the season it is, 9-2 the way they got completely manhandled is ****ing embarrassing.

It was worse live.

Bravo Cresto...Bravo!

In no way did I say that sarcastically btw.....I can't stand posters like the one you've dealt with. I'm sure he understood the analogy quite well ( which was a valid one IMO ) but just wants to break your balls over how large 100,000 dollars is in the literal sense. I'm sure he can understand the analogy of the feeling involved behind someone winning a lawsuit over you for that amount of money who then after comes over to pat you on the back and how it relates to other fans in this forum coming here saying " hey guys don't get down on your team "....maybe in his mind if you used a smaller number he could relate but the literal shouldn't be the issue...bravo

I'm finding that we around here have a penchant for semantics arguments where we take unimportant words and details used to illustrate a point, ignore the point and focus on the minutiae of whatever the hyperbole is. It's pretty much flaming but never gets punished even though it derails conversation 100% of the time

You'd have figured this team, yearning so badly for a new coach, would have waited a little longer than 3 games before completely embarrassing the new one.

I know. But when do they say enough is enough?

Honestly?

Should have been at 12:32 of the 2nd after the sharks made it 6-1

People think that gooning it up when the score is a blow out is not the right way to play.

I call BS on that.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. This league has always, ALWAYS been a message sending league. The time for the Rangers to send a message to the Sharks and the rest of the league is after the Sharks 6th goal.

If you don't have and play with a big ****ing chip on your shoulder with just under half a game to go down 6-1 then you would have a real problem staying in my line up.

Haley is getting called up for the next game to show these pansies how to play with emotion and of that means crossing the line from time to time, oh well.

Pretty much. I mean I'm a fan of the Jets and Mets as well. I get negativity and pessimism, I really do. But the people that exist on HF simply to come out after losses and *****? Get the **** outta here.

Whatever, everyone is entitled to an opinion. Trashing your own team isn't against the rules. It is what it is. Just really tiring.

Pretty much. I honestly thought prior to the LA and SJ games we were gonna lose both and would've taken a split in a heartbeat. I'm still of the mindset if they come out of this road trip at or around .500 they're in decent shape. One crappy game. A lot of hockey left to be played.

Sorry...but this team needs a spark plug player back on this team. Getting beat is one thing but you can't get made a fool of like that.

The first month of the season is pretty meaningless. I tend to just enjoy it for what it is -- real hockey.

The most important months are February and March. February because it gives a coach and GM a real idea of how close the team is to competing for a playoff spot/Cup and March to solidify either a playoff spot or a high seed.

The 2010 Rangers started out 7-1, then got smoked at home by SJ in a game Torts had Biron start. Enough of Biron against good teams.

The 1993 Rangers started out 7-2 and missed the playoffs. The 1994 team started 4-5 with two horrible losses to expansion teams. The 2002 team started out 14-7 and missed the playoffs.

The 2007 team gave up 23 goals in their first five games. They finished 2nd in the EC in GAA that season.

Im not going to deny how excruciating their play has been from the start of the preseason. Something isnt clicking. But with the renovations and high expectations, dont expect a fire sale or any major moves. This team was designed to attract attention and possibly contend.

We're stuck with them, so just deal with it.
