To add to this, there was a lockdown announced this evening. Us average folk certainly wouldn't be able to do anything even remotely resembling a sporting event; not sure how the WJCs will be affected, given they should have a bubble set up for the teams.
The province is doing so terribly because the premiere refused to shut anything down unless "it was a catastrophe". Well, here we are.
Maybe science isn't such a terrible thing to listen to sometimes, I guess.
Even in "good" places things are going bad. People know what they need to do to avoid the virus but are just tired of doing it. It's unfortunate. Other people are forced to work out in the public and put themselves at risk. The whole economic system isn't suited to dealing with a pandemic without some vastly different ideas.
that all said it feels like a tournament like this could work if they approached it the way they did the NHL playoffs. These camps are a bad idea unless they were also going to be 100% in a bubble with strict testing etc etc.
The NHL season...well, I hope players can be impressed upon that while it may suck to not have the freedom to do all the stuff they normally do, if they can just suck it up and stay safe for a few more months then things with the vaccines will start to get better.
I hope guys like Robertson and Karlsson don't have any lasting consquences from this
