That tournament, as a whole, is on shaky ground with regards to whether or not it will be played. COVID numbers in Alberta have sky rocketed and more restrictions will come into place soon.

To add to this, there was a lockdown announced this evening. Us average folk certainly wouldn't be able to do anything even remotely resembling a sporting event; not sure how the WJCs will be affected, given they should have a bubble set up for the teams.

The province is doing so terribly because the premiere refused to shut anything down unless "it was a catastrophe". Well, here we are.

Maybe science isn't such a terrible thing to listen to sometimes, I guess.

So only Schneider has officially made a team? What about Garand? I saw Skinner was added to USA Prelim. Berard was already there.

Even in "good" places things are going bad. People know what they need to do to avoid the virus but are just tired of doing it. It's unfortunate. Other people are forced to work out in the public and put themselves at risk. The whole economic system isn't suited to dealing with a pandemic without some vastly different ideas.

that all said it feels like a tournament like this could work if they approached it the way they did the NHL playoffs. These camps are a bad idea unless they were also going to be 100% in a bubble with strict testing etc etc.
The NHL season...well, I hope players can be impressed upon that while it may suck to not have the freedom to do all the stuff they normally do, if they can just suck it up and stay safe for a few more months then things with the vaccines will start to get better.
I hope guys like Robertson and Karlsson don't have any lasting consquences from this

Read it, it got me interested in knowing more about him but I have not seen his draft day thread to see what the general opinion was from the masses here.
Gotcha. At the time many were already proclaiming him a steal. I wasn't as bullish on him as Berard, but I admittedly saw less of Vierling given our lack of OHL prospects lately.

Edström not doing much offensively this year, but was +1 with 3 SOG and 3 hits in 15+.

Calle Själin who has been pretty decent this year left the game after getting hit by Tim Erixon. He has a concussion history and this looked like one of those.

Rykov was +1 with a SOG in 16:37.

Oof you're old ;)
Haha. I mean I know Drake, I think I even know a few of his songs. Kanye of course I know, and I don't think I've heard any Meak Mill but I know I've heard of him. Just not really my cup of tea. I'm sure my 14-year-old son knows all those songs--possibly with the exception of the two Eminem songs, because they're old.

I'm also young enough to remember some girls in college who watched a teen drama called Degrassi that had Drake in it as a basketball player.

Who is expected to start in goal for Canada? Gauthier? Garand?

My guess right now is that Gauthier is the presumptive starter, and Garand the backup.

But honestly, I'm expecting either Garand or Levi to be the starter after a couple games. Both are possibly already better than Gauthier, he just has age going for him.

I was really hoping Levi would be a late round pick for us this year.
