I really just dont think he will cut it as a top6 center. He has to learn how to play for his linemates and to his strengths. His vision/gamesense/IQ is so awkward.
The rangers have the pieces to get a legitimate 2c if they desire. Chytil is still young and there is nothing wrong in giving him an extra year to see what he's got. Strome is here anyways for now.

Really nice game.Kept the high grade shots against down and Igor stopped everything else.Mika and Laf were good and Fox was a God among men as usual.Miller had a nice game too

What some say or don't say about Lundkvist doesn't really matter. Miller's play has been borderline atrocious. The positioning itself is very concerning and needs some time to fix.

Personally, I thought Jones and Schneider were both better than Miller and Lundkvist in camp.
You thought his play tonight was atrocious?

Montreal looked pretty good, used their speed to back us down in the NZ and made some nice passes into space to give their guys room. Igor really stole that, stellar game from him aside from a few fat rebounds into the slot off his pads. He tracks the puck through traffic on a whole different level, and attacks the puck off high danger shots as if he knows the trajectory as it's released, very Lundqvist like.

Trouba had a solid game but got walked and Igor bailed his ass out. Best game from Miller so far this year, hope he can build on it.

Lunqvist reminded me of Miller when he's bad, tentative with a few big errors that really stand out. Also he needs to get his bomb on net on the PP, rebound goals count too.

I'm still concerned about our finesse lines not getting anything going. We got squeezed into the boards on nearly every dump in by those lines leaving 2 guys against 3 to try to win the puck.

Zbad is starting to feel it, Panarin has his moments but not consistently.

Fox is god level.

We must have been watching different games. He was a turnover machine.
Well, when you are scrambling to cover for you linemate in Miller, it kind of gets tough. Miller certainly made things worse for him. I am not even a Trouba fan, but it was painfully obvious.

Here's a spoiler, Gallant said his system was similar to how ny played last year.
Well, the top lines are not looking like a Gallant team up front so far. So, not sure what to tell you. Unless he changed his system to mirror Quinn's all of the sudden.

Not to be a fearmonger but incoming Gauthier trade request for being sat in Montreal.

If they don't start clicking more at 5 on 5, then it's a matter of time before Blais is moved to the top 2 lines and given a chance there

Third game in four nights to start the season, and we gut out a game in Montreal? I'll take it!
Shesty with shades of the King.

Happy for Laf and I hope this gets his confidence back.

I missed the play where Kakko got hurt. How bad did it look?
