Suggestion for the mods. Switch live thread capability over from GDT to PGT at the end of games?

Bigtime ice-tilting from your top line and the best defenseman walking God's blue Earth.

McKegg and (surprisingly) Chytil were the only two guys winning faceoffs this game. Zib had a good game overall, but he got straight up abused at the dot.
Kreider took a faceoff for Zibs once in the 3rd without Zib even getting kicked out of the dot

Chytil had a decent game, but he seemed to defer to Panarin at every opportunity. At least until Strome is back, I'd love to see Panarin with Zib and Kreider, and then have the Laf/Chyt/Kak line after that. The kid line actually played well down the last month or so of the season last year, and I'd love to see what they can do together with more minutes (and less deference to a single linemate).

The move Fox makes on Evans is next level. I mean he takes the guy so hard he crashes into the boards harder than most checks would have sent him.

Rooney is a key piece to this team. The guy is Blair Betts/Dom Moore level 4th liner. Gets the job done 9 times out of 10.

Happy for a win, but it really isn’t. Montreal didn’t do themselves any favors, they’ve played awful this season and lost 5-1 last game to the Sabres. It’s more about Montreal looking bad than it is us playing well. Bad game from both teams overall

Yeah but take notice of the different looks the NYR are bringing.
Last game was based on offense, this game is more about defense.

It's bits and pieces of good things that will eventually come together.
Once they figure it out, I think they'll be a hard team to beat..

I really just dont think he will cut it as a top6 center. He has to learn how to play for his linemates and to his strengths. His vision/gamesense/IQ is so awkward.

Bingo!! Laf’s positioning has been so much better. Last season, I’m not sure he is there with Zibanejad for that opportunity.
Looks a bit quicker as well. He's learning the NHL game and he can get to those spots.

I've always said he was in a weird middle ground where he was video-gaming the Q but not at the level where he can f*** around and still dominate in the NHL like a McDavid. He's gonna get better and better as he gets the NHL game.

55% on the dots, 21:02 TOI. Wished he played better but Panarin didn't help him like he would usually do.

WTH are you going on about?

Anyways, the top lines are slow to adopt Gallant's system but it will come around. It could be expedited by moving players around but we'll see. Hopefully Kakko gets back in for the next game.

Here's a spoiler, Gallant said his system was similar to how ny played last year.

KAM and Trouba were good despite the tantrums in the GDT.

They had a rough couple shifts. KAM becomes too loosey goosey and things get out of control. Trouba doesn't have recovery like KAM. He needs to pick his spots better.

Was great to see laf and zib wake up
Nils was solid
He and nem were better than tru miller
Shesty needed this
Great game
Chy was invisible
I still think he's a rw
Pan wasnt invisible
He turned the puck over 346 times..
He has to return to form soon
Need more from goodrow
Why was Hunt on PP2?!
Reaves drawing 2 penalties
Great game

Reaves is about as good as it gets for the type of player he is. It’s night and day when you compare him to other tough guys like Haley or McLeod. Reaves is legitimately like Panarin compared to them.
Works hard and inspires teammates and can he ever hit. Teammates love him. Not a lot of skill but half decently hockey smart and skates faster than youl'd think. Doesn't hurt to have a player like that.

If 1/3 games Trouba plays like this and the other 2/3 like against Washington and Dallas then I'm fine with that. He's really not as bad as people are making him out to be.
