Nils Lundkvist, same age as K’Andre Miller and got absolutely burnt by another rookie leading to a goal including numerous mistakes: high IQ player that’s still learning

K’Andre Miller who has had 2 bad shifts that didn’t even lead to goals and has only been playing defense since age 16. Played 18 mins per night last season while Nils was in the SHL absolutely dominating Crosby and Barzal at times, incredible stop on a 2 on 1 today and embarrassed Jamie Benn yesterday with a fantastic athletic play: dumb player, low IQ, should be in the AHL
We’ll, to be fair, the Habs goal was partially on him. He went behind the net and didn’t recover in time. It was a very fast play so it’s hard to really kill Mill.

WTH are you going on about?

Anyways, the top lines are slow to adopt Gallant's system but it will come around. It could be expedited by moving players around but we'll see. Hopefully Kakko gets back in for the next game.

Big win. Right call to put Nemeth-Trouba together at the end of the third. Panarin will look better than this most of the time, McKegg was okay tonight for what he is, but the forward group is pretty rough when it's only missing two guys.

Igor

Fox
Zbad
Laf all on same level

HM- Blais and if we scored on the PP Reaves would be getting more praise

Dishonorable mention- that brutal MSG feed, sound was off, and Panarin for looking like he didn't want to be there

Gallant put McKeggory out there for the final 40 seconds and basically said I don't care if you have to block a shot with your teeth, you are up here for very few games go make something of it

The fact that everyone wants to defend Nils when he gets walked or plays like complete nervous trash and that when K’Andre has 2 bad shifts in one period out of 9 despite looking great in every other shift, everyone jumps on him immediately.

Good stuff, really liked the Defense. Kept stuff outside, and kept Igor's sight lines clean.

Don't get the Miller hate. He sucked in pre season but him and Troubs have been good. Nil's is the weak link, but he's still very green and all things considered he's getting the job done.

Igor stole a game Hank style. Gonna need ALOT more of that, but its inspiring to see in a very tough road game.

Credit to the guy, he was in Hartford yesterday and tonight he’s at the Bell Centre protecting the lead in the Habs home opener.
