Exactly. I didn’t see this one but my sense overall is there’s improvement and development. It’s just hard to get up onto that last summit. Replace Nemeth. Kakko and Lafreniere start playing aggressively. Might not be this season, but I’m still optimistic.

I'm with you. Kakko and Laf are playing their roles which doesn't involve the PP or driving a line. The team is winning so how can you argue. They will develop slower than we all hoped but by no means should we even consider giving up on either one. I would like to see them flank Zib, move CK to the 3rd line and see how we do at 5 X 5. We can't be worse than we've been at even strength. Why the frig not? Oh and get Hunt off the 2nd line.

I'm honestly ready to move one of Kakko or Laf. They still have value. We won't get the value you'd get from a #1 or #2 overall, but they're so far from playing #1 and #2 overall hockey that it's comical to expect that.

I said at the start of the season that the vets need to integrate the kids of the team is to have success. I don't see any chemistry whatsoever between the vets and the kids, and the kids are talented there is no doubt about that. Something is very wrong somewhere.

The kids eat by themselves at team meetings and functions.

Yup if you were gonna demote Kravtsov you had to know the probable outcome, so either keep him on the team or move him , it was a power trip and nothing good came from it.

I think there's a lot going on here. Some of the players are stuck (Strome & Panarin) in between what THEY want to do & what the coach wants them to do, plus we don't have the team speed required to play a hard forechecking game that Gallant likes. We need more top 6 talent & an infusion of speed.

The speed will appear when the players are in control of the pace. Right now, five on five, we’re reacting too much. When guys are playing right, in synch and making quicker decisions, they look so much faster.
I think we eventually get to that point. Right now we’re not there. Relying on solid defense, the power play, and goaltending. That’s a good start but this team needs that five-on-five play to click.

I may not care much for Georgie, but he wasn't why we lost. We played like shit most of the game, therefor we lost. Pretty easy equation to solve. Too little, too late.

At this point I'd love to see Chytil, Laff and Kakko be sat for a couple of games. Part of growing as a player is also recognizing there are consequences (something tda and his lackeys don't seem to understand), and perhaps it's time for them to learn the hard way.

It’s one game. We’ll see where the season series ends up. I think they’re a bad match up for us but I came into this season thinking we’d make the playoffs. That’s a win in my book. I also think Shesty and his puck play will help neutralize some of their forecheck. I also expect us to make some trades. Either way 2 of 4 points vs Toronto/Carolina. I’m happy. I don’t expect game in, game out dominance and 60 minute teeth caving sessions.

It's not one game. They play like this literally all the time, all season long they've played like this. They got away with it early because they had the third easiest schedule in the league early on. And now that they played like this against a legit wagon, they got embarrassed. This team is going to make the playoffs but anything other than a first round exit is not in the cards for this team. I only pray the front office comes to its senses and realizes that as well.

Reaves should have kept his mouth shut after last game saying "We can play with the big boys." No, you really can't when you're team is this bad 5v5 and slow as shit.

Before the first game I don't think anyone here had projections for what if Kakko and Lafreniere just do nothing all season. We all know what the veteran core is - it has stars, charismatic players, but it was never supposed to be enough by itself.
