It's not one game. They play like this literally all the time, all season long they've played like this. They got away with it early because they had the third easiest schedule in the league early on. And now that they played like this against a legit wagon, they got embarrassed. This team is going to make the playoffs but anything other than a first round exit is not in the cards for this team. I only pray the front office comes to its senses and realizes that as well.

Reaves should have kept his mouth shut after last game saying "We can play with the big boys." No, you really can't when you're team is this bad 5v5 and slow as shit.
It was never a cup or bust year. It was fight for the playoffs or make the playoffs year. That’s pretty much a lock. Deadline moves will determine if there are any higher expectations. I’m aware Shesty is carrying us like Hank did. We clearly have work to do, but this cup or bust mentality from you is comical. 1-1 vs Toronto/Carolina. I’m content.

Trading for players is not going to fix anything.

This is a coaching issue. A X's and O's problem. Need to make some major adjustments

I don't have a cup or bust mentality, I have a "be competitive in the playoffs" mentality. This team is a quick 4, maybe 5 and out.

Also, plenty of people around here think this team is the greatest thing since sliced bread because of "THE STANDINGS." Not saying you, but that is an absolute sentiment here, on twitter, etc.

Here's a big issue - Zib and Kreider only want to play with each other and Panarin and Stome only want to play with each other. It's like they completely have blinders on out there with whoever the third guy is on their lines. This is the problem when you build your team around vets and not the young players you drafted.

Maybe...maybe just laf barron and Kakko make a line. Something needs to change, these guys need to get going

Panarin and Strome were finding Kakko early in the season. They were all talking about working together as a line and Kakko being more aggressive with Panarin being the main set up guy on that line. Then they got broken up for whatever reason and haven’t been together since. Seems crazy to me.

It’s blasphemous but I think the solution is to break up Zibanejad/Kreider and Strome/Panarin.

The option that makes most sense is panarin Zib Kreider
Laf Strome Kakko if we're going that route because Laf looked decent with Strome.

Maybe the reason was they didn't want to play with him anymore?

Much like your mental state, he's just not strong enough.
If Trouba played the LS then maybe that would help but just NO lol
Brian Leetch was like 160 pounds and has never hit anyone in his life and had the most dominant playoff run in the history of hockey, bar none.

Love Leetch. Was much bigger than that and used his body plenty. Sorry, but you are wrong about his level of physicality. He wasn't a tough or mean player, but he took the body and wasn't small.

I mean you can say that for every team. It’s match up heavy. I think we match up well against several teams in the playoffs. The canes aren’t one of those teams. Like every team we’ll go as far as our goalie carries us.

Yeah, that was the best he looked all season, no doubt about that, and maybe if they had been kept together things would have been different. But from watching both these lines I get the sense that they don't care about the other guy on their line. 20-93 and 10-16 have gotten too comfortable with each other. Break them up. Make the kids the focus point of this team. Give them PP 1 time. Do something, anything else.

Of course, I have zero confidence in Gallant doing that.
