I think there's a lot going on here. Some of the players are stuck (Strome & Panarin) in between what THEY want to do & what the coach wants them to do, plus we don't have the team speed required to play a hard forechecking game that Gallant likes. We need more top 6 talent & an infusion of speed.

This is a team that cannot afford to play slow, the players must keep their feet moving, all of them. So why are the Rangers playing slow hockey starting from the back? It does not create a strong transition and it doesn't help with a hard forechecking game. The only line that gets the Gallant style forecheck right at times is the fourth line, but Laf and Kakko were not really brought up playing that kind of game, nor was Chytil. Their game is the transition and cycle game but it appears Gallant doesn't do that.

I'm certain both Laf and Kakko would look excellent playing for the Canes or the Panthers, their systems are much more deliberate and calibrated.

There are too many contradictions in the current setup for the Rangers.

There are people in this thread really crying over the fact that we let go a racist, team-cancer piece of shit like TDA?

Lafreniere should be given a chance in the top 6 again, i thought he was starting to show something before it was revealed Covid got him.
Here's a big issue - Zib and Kreider only want to play with each other and Panarin and Stome only want to play with each other. It's like they completely have blinders on out there with whoever the third guy is on their lines. This is the problem when you build your team around vets and not the young players you drafted.

I said at the start of the season that the vets need to integrate the kids of the team is to have success. I don't see any chemistry whatsoever between the vets and the kids, and the kids are talented there is no doubt about that. Something is very wrong somewhere.

I feel this way too. It’s the big four, a bunch of grinders, and the kids splashing around by themselves in the shallow end.

The rebuild is OVER - we Dolan canned the entire staff - it died.

We are making our push

No more rebuild talk

Sather wants it to be over but its only over when the kids are ready. Everyone throwing Kakko and laf under the bus but they will be very good players one day and when they are we'll have a good team, same goes for Schneider, Jones, etc.

Gallant playing Georgiev in this game was a big mistake btw

Shestyorkin is our goalie, they’re going to live and die by him come April, and especially against this team depending on how matchups shake out

You give Georgiev the cupcake game with Arizona tomorrow

The last time we were in the "playoffs" the Hurricanes didn't score a goal with Fox on the ice in three games.

They scored like five with Johnny Cash on the ice walking the line.

He'll just be there and make little to no impact in a games outcome just like he did then.

Yup I said it..

How is this not a system issue?

I'm not claiming personnel is perfect but how can you watch this team and not see MAJOR system issues?

Because you quoted a post a made about Fox to compliment DeAngelo.

Never mention them in the same post. That's foul. There's kids on this site.
  • Well, my mistake for quoting your post which brought up the comparison. Absolutely no one was bringing up Fox when giving DeAngelo his due for his on-ice play.

I personally think you make a line with kakko and Laf centered by Barron and see what happens.

Did GG say he just wanted to get a big body on the first line that’s why he moved KK down? Lol

Im kidding lol
But TBH, it might not be far from the truth.

It has been discussed in some other threads, but the way these kids are brought up into the organization, is it done the right way. Are the vets engaged enough with the kids etc.

I'm honestly ready to move one of Kakko or Laf. They still have value. We won't get the value you'd get from a #1 or #2 overall, but they're so far from playing #1 and #2 overall hockey that it's comical to expect that.
Chytil look lost out there as well. But, there wasn't many Rangers that looked good tonight.

And let's face it, we all love Ryan Reaves, but he doesn't belong on the first line, not even for one shift. So even Gallant had an off night.
