Kreider even says in his postgame comments that they want to forecheck hard and sustain pressure and come at you in waves. So that's clearly the game plan, the way Gallant's Vegas team played, but they're just not executing it right now. Any time they look good for a period or a game here and there it's always when they're actually executing the game plan and putting on sustained relentless pressure. It hasn't happened often but it has happened a few times s they are capable.

They don’t skate well enough as a team and still have several key players that won’t play this way even if they say that’s the plan.

I would put Barron on the third line with Goodrow and Kreider. Not looking to upset the 4th line that much although I would put Hunt there.

Not to disagree too much, I like the idea of Barron on the third line but leave Kreider with Zib because I think they have some chemistry. I would sit Hunt for Barron and let Hunt spell Some of the others

They didn't want to execute Quinn's game plans for 3 years either. Just saying.

Look, if you want to be relentless and come in waves, you need to win puck battles and board battles and our top guys are not great in that department. It all starts on the cycle and then you tilt the ice and it becomes a half court game, to use a b-ball analogy. The other team's guys are worn down and you can change lines while keeping the puck alive in the offensive zone.

I agree Jones is an upgrade but i think he would have been really uncomfortable out there this game.

Yep I don't see much changing. Nemeth is not going anywhere. GG is not gonna have Jones and Schneider on the 3rd pairing. I would like to see Barron getting a top 9 chance with Hunt going back to the 4th line but it's probably not gonna happen

Not too sure about this. Bread and Butter had good years with Blackwell and Fast. So anyone can basically fill that spot. But losing Buchnevich definitely took some luster out of that top unit. And he is much harder to replace on that line.

Gallant can put together the kids line,... Laf, Chytil, Kakko and let them grow into the top line of the future.

The merits of Blackwells and Quickie's contributions to that line can be debated, but right now, they are too comfortable with each other.

We tried that Kids line, it didn't work because Chytil sucks.

I think no matter what way you arrange the furniture here we're still gonna be left with holes in the top 6 and its affecting our 5 on 5. Imo i would have really liked to see a couple shifts of Grecco on with panarin and strome, his speed and tenacity should work, his hands looked decent from limited viewing of him, he would atleast be a blackwell/fast type there.
