Speculation: Rangers and Ducks talking trade?

I'll be at the game tonight, with binoculars to look out for Bob Murray and friends. My goal: corner them and don't let them leave until they make a deal with Gorton. And also give me french fries. Garden fries. Could be more costly than signing Lindholm! MSG prices are no joke.

If he talks you and Gorton into taking Bieksa for some fries...

If you acquire those fries, even for Bieksa, you definitely won't have enough cap room to sign Lindholm. You'd also have to trade Getzlaf and Perry.

PREMIUM MSG fries, my man. If you want light beer and a gourmet sausage to go with that, Anaheim probably has to relocate and another lockout ensues.

If Anaheim deals Fowler, they deserve to miss the playoffs the upcoming 10 years.

He is twice the player Vatanen will ever be.

Even during intermission vatanen was taking about his mistakes and how fowler covered his ass lmao. Ranger fans stay salty

I bet if they actually watched a Ducks game, they would just look at the hero chart on their computer instead of the game whenever Fowler is on the ice. He's the only reason we haven't been blown out in all 4 games this year.

Rangers fans stay salty about what exactly?

Generally, there seems to be a genuine excitment to beat up on Fowler by Rangers fans. This is deeply rooted in the fact that the Rangers passed on Fowler to draft McIlrath.

Its kind of like getting a sick joy out of the seeing the hot girl who rejected you getting fat.

I do enjoy that, not going to lie.

I'm more pissed that we didn't take Tarasenko, but I'll admit, I'd rather have Fowler than McIlrath (both then and now)

Yeah I don't think you'll find a lot of Rangers fans wishing we had taken Fowler there. Little more bitter about that 40 goal guy in St. Louis who 98% of our board wanted at 10. Not a shot at Fowler, just saying this really couldn't be further from the truth. There are some fancy stats junkies on our board who despise Fowler, but the draft has very little to do with it.

Of course you would rather have Tarasenko now. The point is that when they went D, the logical pick at the time was Fowler. The Rangers went off the board taking Mcilrath and they got burned. Also, being bitter about not taking Tarasenko is not mutually exclusive to being bitter about not taking Fowler. Just like you can enjoy watching multiple girls who rejected you getting fat.

More likely some people think Fowler just isn't as good as Ducks fans say he is - regardless of what team they are a fan of.

It's a lot more simple than some deep-rooted grudge?

I'd just prefer Vatanen.

No, I get the point. You want us to feel bad about not taking Fowler at the draft as a reason for why some Rangers fans dislike him. I'm just telling you that really isn't the case. It's literally like a dozen posters on our board who hate him because his fancy stats are bad, and maybe 3 or 4 because he's "soft" or whatever. Those are the people who like to "beat up" on Fowler. It's really that simple.

What do ducks fans say he is? I think Cam is a #2-4 Dman. He would be a good #2 to a true #1 Dman (franchise type) or a very good 2nd paring guy. I think Vatanen is a 2nd paring guy with slightly better offensive gifts, but slightly worse defensively. Value wise I think they are close, with Cam being the slightly better player, but Vatanen signed to a longer term.

yeah it's pretty obvious as to why some of them root for him to fail, and thus do all their evaluation based on a chart, then when you point out their beloved ryan mcdonagh actually has as bad or worse "advanced stats" it's all dan girardi's fault, but fowler playing with 3rd pairing dman for almost his entire career can't be brought up

That's exactly how it was on draft night. No one really cared about Fowler that night. All eyes were on the Russian prize. It was extremely disappointing to pass him up for McIrath.

There were a couple posters that said that we should have gotten Fowler if we were going Def and a whole bunch of people complaining about McIlrath in general.

Fowler and Vatanen both good. Lindholm is better.

Rangers and Ducks in dialogue and scouting eachother. No specific names but there is smoke.

Rangers obvious assets: Miller, Fast, Lindberg

I think that sums things up.
