GDT: Rangers 2019 Training Camp Thread: Part II

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. You can't forget Kakko is 18 years old. It's a hard sell he will improve everyone around him at this time. What would be best is to put him in situations where he will thrive, like the powerplay and with proven finishers. You ask me, I can see Kakko setting up Panarin's and Ziba's one-timers all day long. And visa versa.

It's good he won't start there at first, give him time to acclimate before giving him top minutes.

This line will have a good game tonight. Fast always plays well in the preseason,... cause he has to make the team every year. Strome has to prove last year wasn't a fluke. And Chytil wants to show he belongs in the middle.

That is what I saw, but no one confirmed it. Couldn't even provide the source. It came up on a bing search but there was no link to the source. Very strange. And after looking today, I could see it is not reliable....

They have Fast, Names, and Chytil out tonight under 'injury report", and they are all playing.

I have no idea the point of this info as the first search result, when it is so inaccurate.

I was just asking honest feedback. I know you gave contracts to bread-man and the number 2/3 hopefully developing to a 1 defense-man in Trouba. I did not know if you were ready to compete now or in a few years. Thank you for the honest feedback.
 
At least Seeing some pairings for sure 72 and 20 maybe 50 and 16

2 of the 3 nhl D pairs: 43 and 23 and 76 and 8.

I like Huska getting another look tonight deservedly so

Next week we’ll start seeing more of the actual team start playing together I’m hoping
 
Morning thoughts

Looks like Rykov is back on the ice according to NYR twitter. Wonder if he'll be ready to play a preseason game or if they'll start him straight off in the AHL.

The pairings to me indicate that Hajek is still the favorite over Lindgren to grab the open spot on the left side.

It's too bad Reunanen likely won't stay for an AHL assignment, I'd be interested to see what he could do to help the powerplay down there.

I read home teams do that during the preseason. Being this is another road game for us, our top players will get the night off.

I gather this changes on the last preseason games, but early on, this is how they approach it.

I’m really surprised to see Robertson playing in this game. And on the right side no less. Way to throw the kid to the wolves.

Well this is also what AV did and the team started the season out disastrously every season

Edit: nvm I thought this was a home game today. B squad again on the road is to be expected
 
Haley playing again, to me, means they are looking hard at keeping him around. Even as depth in the AHL which is good for me.

I really like seeing the Nieves-McKegg pairing at forward. Based on what I’ve seen, that would be 2/3 of my 4th line
