Just pathetic. 2nd and 3rd, nobody out and you can't take the lead.

DLS starts the bottom of the 9th off with another HBP. What are these f***ing guys throwing at?

Recovered nicely with 3 quick outs.

Can we please get this runner in from 2nd with nobody out now?

I'm surprised nobody's bitching about the 50 pitch outing that he still has yet to recover from...

Shelton is an ass and idiot, no doubt. Brubaker put on a great pitching clinic tonight and it was wasted by the bullpen.

Bednar has not been an all star since that 50 pitch outing. Not even close. Shut him down for a few weeks. I don't know but he's been very hittable and not commanding his pitches well.

Yeah, missed the game but caught up without spoilers... was nice until it went off the rails at the end, multiple times.

The Marlins were awful and tried to give us the game a number of times and we just couldn't execute. We failed to put balls in play for insurance runs or get the big hit for a crooked number outside of Chavis' AB. Simply put, that's a deserved loss.

Let's hope Thompson can keep up the SP momentum tomorrow and we take 3/4 before going to Coors.

The positive in all of this is Brubaker.

Poor job by the bullpen, but it happens.
I know there would be a mutiny by the fans if we traded Bednar, and he's a Pittsburgh guy. But this is a heart/head kinda thing and the head is saying "he's a reliever, it won't last..."

Bednar's stuff is not so spectacular by contemporary closer standards that it can't all go to sh1t on him/us. I mean even in recent memory we saw both Hanrahan and Grilli regress sharply after looking unhittable for a while.

I wonder if also the narratives around Bednar being an All-Star, a Pittsburgh guy, the Pirates being on the upswing, Cherington holding out for what he wants...would conspire to actually get us enough value to move him.

Unlike 3 years ago when we weren't offered commensurate value for he-who-shall-not-be-named. Which I will maintain until the end of time cannot be blamed on NH.
