There is NO excuses for Sweden, this is World Championships, Sweden played with their A-team of available players, there was 6-7 NHL.ers, rest was top KHL and domestic league players, pretty typical setup for European teams.

6-0 in quarterfinals.

6....zero

You embarrased your country.
I support Finland, but im disappointed seeing that from Sweden.
I feels for the fans.

Yeah, not gonna discredit MÃ¥rts. He stayed on too long and is a little stale but he won a few medals and was superb with the Juniors before.

This is why Canadian dislike this tournament. Usually it means pretty much nothing because the best players are doing more important things or taking a vacation. Usually you euros just belittle us for thinking this.

Now you know how it feels.

Well not the other euro counterys know how it feels:sarcasm:

What? Russia and Finland have all-star teams compared to us.

Czech on the same level....

We did beat all the minor nations.

MÃ¥rts could be one of the factors why there was so many people refusing to represent Sweden.

the problem is that he is not a good coach.

strange tactic and desicions. And nobody is scared of him....a coach should be tough.

the players we had on the team could play much better....

with a good coach like hallam or rönnberg this team would do better.

The difference is most of us Swedes grew up watching this tourney. The WHC is where Swedish stars become heroes back at home. How many Swedes do you think watch the NHL? The Swedes who declined simply to play in the World Cup care about no one but themselves. Hardly anyone is going to be watching here.

yes yes but canada has much better depth than sweden.

this game was team canada d vs team sweden d

Remember how posters were saying Sweden would "take it to Canada" just because of how poorly Canada played the game before.. ya right hahah #ontothenext

I'm guessing I'm the only one who likes the Marchand-McDavid-Duchene line?

No I like it too...Hall is also good with McD...Hall McD and Stone also looked good together...Although it doesn't seem crazy to me either to let Duchene center a different line...Perry, Duchene + ? maybe

"With their A-team of available players." Well, that's just it then. There's no point in grading anything. "Well Charlie, you didn't even spell your own name right on the test and got 0/150 points, but you got an A according to your available, potential performance, because you showed up!"

"A-team of available players." I can't stop laughing.

Charlie wouldn´t have done it much worse this game ;)

If a countrys policy is letting players who reached NHL with huge help of the countrys developement system can decline without any repercussions, then this is the result.

History books and World rankings aint gonna say: They lost 6-0 but the best ones were off golfing.

If i made you laugh that much, i´m glad i made you forget about the loss and feel happy instead :)

That problem is cultural, nothing else. As many of us fans have constantly stated, you think we're happy? **** those primadonnas participating in the Mickey Mouse tournament. I won't watch a single game and they can **** off. That list of declines and "injuries" is a disgrace. That's three ****ing teams that aren't here. Barely Canada feel affected by that kind of ********. It's like playing the entire game with the fourth line.

McDavid has not displayed that at all this tournament. He's not stood out at all next to several of Canada's other players. Hall has looked far better to me. Duchene is second on the team in scoring, he's doing his job.

McD hasn't scored yet...but otherwise he's doing alright...plenty of dangerous breakouts, even laid out a Swede after working hard on the backcheck... wheels around and pretty much has the puck on a strong in the offensive zone...His pp unit is clearly the best of the 2... ppg pace and everybody's panicking??? Silly...

I only saw the first period and the middle section of the third so... not impressed with Canada again. Talbot looked much improved though, and Gallagher still looks terrible. Sweden's loss is no big deal given how putrid its player acceptance rate was.
